The Buffy Wikia has a much more in depth look at the vampires and their abilities, but I'm going to give a rundown of their strengths and weaknesses up to and including invitations and how Spike will abuse the hell out of them when he so desires. Because, if he can't poke fun at you, he's not having fun.

Powers
Accelerated Healing - While not immediate, many older vampires heal rapidly, Spike only taking a few months to regain the ability to walk after his back is broken. Any magical or blessed weapon is likely to leave a scar.

Enhanced Agility, Reflexes and Stamina - This improves with age. Spike, at roughly a hundred and twenty-years-old is extremely adapted to his own body and can generally stand his own in a fight. Spike no longer has these since he is an Inmate.

Enhanced Senses - Vampires have enhanced hearing, smell, and night vision. They are especially sensitive to the scent of blood, and can distinguish individual humans and vampires by scent. Spike in particular has an acute sense of smell which he uses to help the Scoobies find enemy hideouts, demons, etc.

Strength - Vampires possess metaphysical super human strength. The exact limits of this strength are debatable and often vary from individual to individual. Some vampires have been shown capable of deforming metal with their hands, while others have been held back by wooden doors. Chains have had varying success at restraining vampires; Angel was able to break out of them after hours of trying, while others found them unbreakable. They have also been shown to throw human bodies anywhere from 5 to 25 ft away.

The blood of enhanced human and human-like beings can augment his strength. If he gets a chance to feed on someone who is not exactly "normal", even in a small amount, it will play some affect on him. This affect depends greatly on the powers of the character and just how much of a taste he gets.
Spike no longer has his enhanced strength since he is an Inmate.

Weaknesses
Fire and Sunlight - When set on fire, the body of the vampire will be consumed in a relatively short time. The more powerful the vampire is, the longer it will take for their bodies to be properly destroyed, which explains why Darla and Drusilla are able to survive being set on fire while an anonymous vampire was quickly consumed when Spike lit him with his lighter.

Should a vampire survive the fire, the healing process will regenerate the charred flesh, skin, and hair. The time required depends on the age of the vampire. Following their immolation at Angel's hands, Drusilla healed faster than Darla because she was now the older vampire.

The light emitted by the earth's sun is extremely hazardous to vampires, should they be exposed directly to it. When exposed to direct natural sunlight, the body of the vampire combust and will quickly be consumed by the resulting flames. Older and more powerful vampires like Spike or Angel can resist sunlight better while younger, weaker vampires are consumed almost instantly.

Filtered and/or indirect sunlight may not cause any kind of injury to specific vampires. If protected from direct exposure to sunlight, vampires can be active in the middle of the day. Spike often travels under the protection of a heavy blanket.

Holy Items - Crosses, bibles, and holy water burn vampires on contact, producing smoke but not flames. Thus, they are employed to ward off vampires with moderate success. The substance of the cross is irrelevant: wood and metal crosses have the same effect. However, two rods temporarily held in the shape of a cross are insufficient.

Wood - If the heart of the vampire is pierced with a wooden object, the vampire will immediately die. Instances have included a stake, an arrow, a tree branch, and a pencil. Materials such as metal, plastic wood grain or synthetic wood do not work. Bullets and blades can cause great pain, but will not kill the vampire, unless, of course, they result in decapitation.

Chip - While captured by the Initiative, a chip was implanted into his brain that causes him extreme pain if he attempts to hurt a human. This does not stop him from hurting non-humans, including other demons.

Invitations
Vampires can enter a private residence, including houses and apartments, only if invited; otherwise they will hit an invisible barrier. Vampires can enter all other buildings as normal. All other areas are accessible. Examples provided below:

✖ The invitation giver need not be aware that the invitee is a vampire.

✖ The invitation can be coerced through telepathic means.

✖ The invitation need not be immediate or specific.
    * Cordelia invites Angel to her apartment before she has found one. Angel effortlessly enters the one she buys.
    * Rebecca Lowell invites Angel to watch a movie at her house without specifying a time.
    * Wesley posing as Angel is invited by Benny into Magnus Bryce's residence; Angel himself later acts on that invitation.
✖ The invitation can be written instead of spoken.

✖ The invitee must be a resident, but not necessarily the owner.

✖ Squatters and guests can also gain invitation rights.
    * Andrew obtains invitation rights by staying at Buffy and Dawn's apartment in Rome, allowing him to invite Angel and Spike.
✖ The mystical barrier fades if all residents die.

✖ No invitation is required for temporary accommodations such as motel rooms, hotel rooms, and frat houses, or if the vampire is the legal owner of the building.

✖ Invitation has been shown to be necessary for dorm rooms. Barge will be treated similarly.

✖ The residences of vampires (who can also be counted as being dead) and other non-humans are not protected.

✖ Once invited, the vampire is always free to enter, unless the invitation is ritually revoked.
    * This must be done by a witch or wizard and will require some degree of skill.

So, now that you have the basics, please let me know:
I. Is your character human or something else? (homo superior, demon, etc.)
II. Can Spike enter your room if he's interested? If he can, but you'd rather he didn't, let me know here.
III. Would Spike be able to hurt your character if he tried?
IV. Questions/comments?

I. Is your character human or something else?

Angel. My guess is that if Angel touches Castiel, it might sting a bit, given that Castiel is basically 100% holy power. This can hurt as much as you want. Castiel also restrains most of his power most of the time, and when he releases it at any time it'll provably sting for Angel to be around.

Also, Castiel possesses no typical human smells (dead skin, oil, sweat, washing machine detergent, etc), so Angel can probably tell something is off about him immediately. If it's ok with you, Castiel would be able to tell Angel is a vampire immediately, as vampires have different souls that humans. We can work out the details through PM if you want.

II. Can Spike enter your room if he's interested? If he can, but you'd rather he didn't, let me know here.

Non-human, and as such invitation laws do not apply. Interfere away.

III. Would Spike be able to hurt your character if he tried?

Not with paired-down inmate strength. My guess is that his blood would also burn in a bad way.

IV. Questions/comments?

Think I covered everything.
