Right, it's done. One Torchwood layout (or really one Captain John Hart layout, as there's not much representation of the rest of the Bikini Cops here - maybe a glimpse of Captain Jack occasionally but that's about all). Icons in the sidebar as credited, the random ones in the profile box are either [livejournal.com profile] bendybendy, [livejournal.com profile] boji or [livejournal.com profile] lady_meander. The header I cobbled together myself from the pics shared by (amongst others) [livejournal.com profile] bendybendy and [livejournal.com profile] stir_of_echoes - thank you all.

Now I'm off to bed as it's way past silly o'clock and I have to get up soon. *yawns*

ETA - though being up so late (for me, anyway) means I have pressed the red button and seen the BBCi Torchwood preview in BIG on the TV. Sweet dreams y'all.
Imagekazzy-cee very kindly made me a shiny new festive banner for my journal, utilising one of Imageukchrisp's photographs of James taken at the Celtic Blues event a couple of weeks ago. I just loved the shiny guitar, despite the awful racket it made. Thank you both very much.

So I've tweaked the layout to fit in with the pretty banner and added some festive icons too. The only thing I can't get to change colour is the pale blue line underneath the heading of each entry. Thank you Imagejapewierd :) Apart from that I'm happy with the way it looks.

(vampire that is)

What a fantastic day. Birds singing, squirrels making lots of rotten little squirrels, the sun beaming down.... It's very exciting. I've put washing on the line to dry. And as it's March, the first of the Spring months, and only two months to the day until Jamses springs himself on us feverish fangirls, I've got a new layout. Featuring, funnily enough, James. Lots of James. The header and matching icons were made for my by the everso talented, kind and generous [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee, using a picture taken by RavenU. Thank you Karen :)

In other news, I have no other news.
I've gone green for a while - it's a sort of cross between spring like and Trebor Soft-Mints. But it has lots of lovely Green Wing pics, and [livejournal.com profile] gillo said we should share the lurve, so here I am, sharing.

Had a fairly lazy day today and did lots of computer type stuff, as well as ironing 9 shirts, which should last Chris until after Easter. Retrieved all his downloaded music from Napster and set up another user account so that I can get another week's free trial listening to some new albums. Used up the remaining credits I had from my Christmas pressie as well, and downloaded myself a strange variety of tracks:

  • Pink - Stupid Girls

  • David Gilmour - On an Island

  • Corrinne Bailey Ray - Put Your Records On

  • Gnarls Barclay - Crazy

  • Orson - No Tomorrow

  • Embrace - Nature's Law

  • The Feeling - Sewn

  • Teddy Thompson - Everybody Move It

  • Will Young - Who Am I

  • Massive Attack - Live with Me and Unfinished Sympathy

  • Don Ho - Tiny Bubbles

  • Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out, Do You Want To and The Fallen

  • Morrissey - You Have Killed Me

  • Tom Baxter - The Moon and Me

a combination culled from songs I like that have been playing on Radio 2 recently, or have appeared in TV adverts (I don't buy the products, just the songs).

Next task is to get them onto the iRiver, along with the songs I do my tap dancing to, so that I can try and figure out when I'm supposed to start dancing, because the teacher won't be there in the exam to count me in.

Got quite sad listening to Radio 2 last week, as it was Johnnie Walker's last week of broadcasting. His Drive Time show has been something that has formed the background noise to tea time for the children over the last 7 years, and they always used to sing along to the Crusing jingle. Don't know what Chris Evan's is going to be like in that time slot (I'll listen to give him the benefit of the doubt), but in the meantime we have Stuart Maconie which is always a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

If I can have a gratuitous icon post, I can definitely have a gratuitous layout post, to show off the lovely seasonal banner [personal profile] kazzy_cee made for me.

She's such a sweetheart, and I love her to bits.
At last I've finished tweaking my LJ layout, and it now has a beautiful new banner by the talented [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee, who also made me a matching icon.

[livejournal.com profile] lmbossy let me have some amazing coding so that instead of a scrolling or static wall of icons, I now have any number of random icons which change every time I refresh the screen. Guess what I've been sitting here doing. *g* The coding was complete double-dutch to me, full of curly brackets and peculiar words and logical if/then/but statements, but it works and I have managed to add extra pics to it too. (Even managed to work out what I'd done wrong when I kept getting 'compiler error' messages).

So big thanks to both [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee and [livejournal.com profile] lmbossy, with many *hugs* and much love.
