I am going to hope the late night working today will make for a smoother tomorrow before traveling but I know I will have to probably do some things then too.

I don’t mind replacing break lights and the front headlights of our van except that today is not ideal as it is cold out and I don’t have a heated garage. 🥶

I think today is going to feel like a longer day than necessary. I guess getting woken up by one of our dogs at 1:30am and not being able to fall back to sleep might do that for me. So I started working earlier than normal in hopes to end earlier or maybe get a nap. Time will tell 🤣

As I am doing some cleanup in my Obsidian notes I found some draft of things that I never got around to publish to my site. I might have I hope to not create to much noise as I might push some of these out there as I am more likely to find them again that way.

I thought my plan for today was clear but here I am now at a swim event with my daughter that she is not swimming in but she wanted to cheer on her friends. Guess I am proud she wanted to come support her friend so I should not complain.

Had 15 min between meetings today and decided it was about time to ditch some stuff sitting around on my desks to clean them up a little. Probably could have spent longer but nice to get things picked up and tossed.

Ended up having to do a MacOS install over the top of my Mac Mini server I have as a file share. It actually took me longer than I had hoped to figure out what was going on as it even gave me an error that it couldn't do an install at first. More than 12 hours after now and seems like it is not crashing so hopefully this trend stays.

I was so close to getting another computer because I was having issues with our server one as Plex would not start back up. Finally figure it out after more time than I would have liked but glad it was not a computer issue and just a Plex issue… For now at least 🤷‍♂️ 😂

Day 3 of swimming and we will see how this goes. The air quality in the pool area is so bad that everyone is in the gym nearby till they race 😵‍💫

It is going to be a hockey, swimming, hockey kind of day. 🏒🏊‍♀️

I feel like I should do a better job of keeping little things I have created online in an easier place to find. Sometimes I post about them sometimes I don't but I have a lot of little things I use or hacked together that maybe I need a page on my site for that. I realized this morning that doing my batch uploading that I thought was just updating old files actually sent a lot of them out to social.lol and probably my feed. Sorry about that!

I get meetings need to change but when you keep changing the 30 minute meeting I we are suposed to have at 7am my time multiple times this week it starts to get a little annoying. Kind of makes me think any meetings from this person now at 7-8am hour I will disregard and assume it is not going ot happen or I will automatically decline them now.

I have gone down quite the rabbit hole today but I might have to call it good soon after I get one more thing done… Says everyone!

Still need to find some more time to go though all my code of an old web app to I guess finally update the mysql actions it is making to mysqli 🫠. I feel like this is something I could write a small python script for or use AI in some capacity but honestly I would be worried it would break something else and it has been a long time since I have really dove into this code. So I will just keep slowing updating the actions.

Up early today for day two of the swim meet. Thankfully we got that extra hour to sleep but also had to navigate a diffent surprise that happened for the hockey player this morning.

How is it Monday again because it seemed like it was just Friday then I blinked and the weekend was gone.

The day so far… Running to many miles, getting home to replace a door (did have a fire at this time), mount another TV, and then replace a light in the basement.. I think it is time to sit and relax.

Up early again for a trail run today. Let’s see how this one goes as it might be harder than last weekend.

Update a handful of things in my again today and then tried to do some clean up of my CSS stuff as it started to get a little crazy again.

I am glad to have today off of work but I have a lot of things to catch up on for work and other odd tasks helping people or finishing things that I think my day will be gone before I know it.

Guess I should have done a quick weather check for where the run was this morning vs at my house. 5am at my house it was 42°F and right now at the starting it is 33°F. 😬

Spending this time this morning cleaning up the work email while waiting for the girls to finish "Morning Joe" hockey. Thankfully, it was not as early as normal and once here I could find a table to sit at.

It has been so long since I have been in the actual weblog.lol configuration but I realized long ago I never set the timezone or well I thought I did but left it commented out. That is fixed so maybe things will now show up in the right "time" for any following along.

I have noticed as I clean up old posts and/or link to old posts now in new posts that links get messy and broken way to much in my little world. Some of it is on me and others is how systems are setup and I need to think if this is some quick way to fix this. 🤔

I feel like even though my life has not gotten any less hectic I have realized over the past year I have wanted to tinker with more online things than have just something simple as I thought I wanted 4 years ago. 🤔

Thanks to @adam post on how to create a "blog" from your social.lol feed I decided to give that a go. It is an interesting idea of someone that might not have a "blog" could use mastodon (e.g., social.lol) to really create one but have a template making it look like your own wrapped around it. Fun to tinker with and if you are curious check it out but it might not live at this site forever.

Made another couple of tweaks to my some.pics template for a better back/to gallery button. Which started due to a snag I found in mysome.pics embed script that I use on my omg.lol main page so when linking to a photo it can still take you to my own some.pics collections vs back my omg.lol page.

Time to create some charts for work even though work should be over for the day... 🫠

Up early today to watch the oldest play basketball. I realized I haven’t seen him play this short season yet.

I am bummed my youngest isn’t swimming today as I would love to see what she can do starting this season but I do think balance is good to and she is at Girl Scout Camp. However, I am volunteering today to get hours so I am still here.

Spent a little bit of time on Obsidian again as I wanted a quick way to update metadata for photos that I uploaded to some.pics. It is "working" now but very rough right now. However, there is only so much polish I can do trying to stick with a lot of simple markdown format.

Looks like today I get to keep score for volleyball. Oh goodie that means I have to pay even more attention.

It is coming to my realization that when you make something that is useful for yourself in a bare bones kind of way you then start to realize there is a lot of other things you can or even "should" do to make it more fool proof even if that is for yourself still. The list of "to-do's" is getting long here.

I feel like I have done a lot of little projects I would love to write about but I can never find the time to finish any of it up so I have a bunch of things at 75%. The projects are probably only useful to me but maybe someone else might find it interesting. If anything it has been a great learning adventure. 😆

I didn't plan this well as it is currently 81°F in the Shed Office and my little AC unit does well if I plan but it is not doing well at keeping up.

There is a lot going on in this world unfortunately, but hope everyone is having a good Friday!

I guess the good thing about going back though old posts and updating things is that I have now found some issues in one of my Obsidian plugins that I need to dig into more.

I decided to give it a go and I think my merging of my own forked obsidian plugin actually published correctly and the new version is now live in the Community. I will try to give it a more proper write up but don't hold your breath. The short version if you are looking for a way to post to weblog.lol directly from Obsidian this might be of interest to you.

I was thinking I would try to figure out how to merge / create a new Obsidian plugin request for what I did now for posting directly to weblog.lol. However, it seems like a lot of work trying to figure out how to merge it with my existing status.lol or just creating a while new one. So I will probably just kick this off to another day.

I have really gone down a rabbit hole this morning researching of all things a Lake that I ran by yesterday all because of the Historical Marker I found 😆

I guess I am glad that I went for a long run yesterday with the major storms this morning. Not to mention the loss of power which makes for a fun morning so far. Dogs seem a little scared by all this so I will just be here on the couch if anyone needs me.

Central Zone swim meet day two and our youngest has 3 events. Let’s go G!

I am trying to put a little more structure in my Daily Obsidian notes and wondering what others do or how it functionally looks and maybe what you put in there. I don't use mine for work it is just like a daily log of things (e.g., places visited, interesting things, thoughts, links to other notes, link to running).

Well it seems the internet went out again at home. This is 2x in less than a week. Not always a huge deal but it is summer so the kids are home and the little thing that I work from home as well. 🫠

Never good when during your first meeting of the day the internet goes out and not going to come back till 11am. 😵‍💫

I’m nervously excited for our little swimmer today as she is competing in a bunch of events and placed quite high. She will do great no matter what!

it is only 8:30 this morning and I am already hot out here watching our oldest play beach volleyball. 🏐

Was doing some "blog gardening" this morning and wishing on more of my old posts and some new ones I had a location attached to it. In most cases there is a picture with a few words or something but I never really said where I was. So in the cleanup if I can tell I will try to add but wish it was part of the post and not just a link added.

Up early for day three of this swim meet. Why start warmups at 6:45… I guess why not 🤷‍♂️

If feel like this is fitting that these swimmer staying together as a team at a hotel with a pool decided to break up into teams and do relays for fun. 🙃

Drove the +3 hours to Cedar Falls for an outdoor swim meet today to see my daughter do warmups and then the thunder and lightening came. Meet got cancelled for tonight which is a bummer they wouldn’t delay it as we are stuck here for the weekend and there is a chance it could still happen tonight.

Up early today to make sure everything is ready to go for our drive for an out of town outdoor swim meet. However, looking at the weather that is 4 hrs away I am not sure it will happen today. 🫠

I am curious for people that create daily logs for themselves on either paper or in digital form how they go about structuring such a thing. I have a way I am doing it now and the good thing is I am capturing things, the bad thing is I feel like it is very messy. 🤣

I will have to say I tested out my new Obsidian plugin tonight and so far so good on posting right to my site from Obsidian.

I spent more time than I would like to admit working on another Obsidian plugin. Well really I am expanding functionality but either way it will look almost new in the end behind the scenes as I decided to keep things a little separated. 🫣🫠

As with all things fixing one thing on websites breaks another thing. I decided to drop the .html from my site which it seems like redirects are working fine so hopefully no big issues.

Well against my better judgement I booked a tee time for me and my older two kids tonight. I don't play golf enough but my son got a new set of clubs and wants to "warm" up on us before he plays with his friends later this week. 🤣

Well I had to submit yet another update for this Obsidian Plugin but I figured I should test it again to make sure it actually posts before it is fully submitted again.

I guess the purpose of taking my fun ceramic coffee mug to the shed with warm coffee is negated when it is raining outside and now my fun cup with no lid has lots of cold rainwater in it. 🙁

I got some feedback on my Status.lol plugin last week and I finally decided to clear the comments for them so maybe, just maybe it will be in the wild at some point. This took a lot of will power as it felt like "work" fixing some minor code items for a non-coder.

Busy weekend of activities as we start today off with early morning basketball and track. Going to have to be some dividing and conquering going on which is always tough as both my wife and I don’t like missing things.

Tonight was a perfect night to be outside watching a track meet. So fun!

Nothing like a last minute notice to give a presentation at our Finance town hall meeting in 30 min.

As I sit here at a car dealership I am still shocked at how long this sort of things takes even though I have everything ready to go.

Staying up later that I would want tonight to sign my son up for his drivers exam so he can hopefully get his license on his birthday.

Working through creating some dataviews in Obsidian. I had never really had a use to give it a try so never tired before. However, after using it with a plugin on my Strava data I realized how powerful they are and actually can solve another use case I have with my daily notes.

Time for some more basketball today, if they win this they can play for 3rd place later today.

Spending my quite morning today researching new to me but used vehicles.

It has been a long day and I don’t think I accomplished everything I wanted to but… Fun watching all my kid activities today.

Now time for some hockey to end the day off.

Quick got home to pickup the hockey player and get her to her game only to find some water on the floor of the bathroom from under the sink. It appears the connections (hopefully that is it) is the problem. So I guess I know what I will be doing once I get home tonight. ☹️

Time for some basketball for a couple hours this afternoon.

Watching the youngest at her track meet this morning. I enjoy watching her do other things minus her main or favorite sport. I think she is having fun so that is all that matters.

I am really testing the Strava API right now as I found a very interesting Obsidian plugin that connects with Strava. Let’s just say I am attempting to download all of my history 🫠

Finally figured out after too many test posts to count how to get the various types of emojis to render properly and passed to status.lol. I know the easy solution would have been to create a picker of the fluent emojis but I like the speed of just typing the emoji and then have work done in the background.

Well that took a lot longer to figure out than I would like to admit but I decided to submit this status.lol Obsidian plugin to the Community plugins. After a couple of attempts it at least is now in the review queue. 🙄

Fixing issues created by fixing other issues... This is pretty much the story of how my process works. 🫠

I am such a novice when trying to figure out GitHub. I think it took me more times than I want to admit to get the code from my computer synced up for the first time to a new repository I created. However, it is there now so I guess after some trial and error some success.

I decided to cobble together an Obsidian plugin that can post directly to status.lol. More details to come as it has a couple other options but for me this fits perfectly into my workflow as I am using Obsidian to keep daily log notes.

This should post to social.lol via status.lol but the actual origination is Obsidian.

Finally got the new computer and happy to say I somehow snagged myself a Mac! However, I only have a half day of work before heading out on vacation so only going to do bare minimum setup so I can actually get things out the door.

I have been up for too long already today even though being work computer less I could have slept in and actually set my alarm accordingly. However, I guess with less than 24 hours till we leave on our trip, when I kind of woke up at 4 I could not turn off my mind thinking of everything that needs to get done today.

Nothing like starting this very short week out with a blue screen of death on my work computer. So have been with tech support to get this sorted. Probably not a great start for the week.

Well I had thought about pulling in a run from next week to today but seeing how it is now snowing outside I am going to just continue to sit inside as that seems like the best option.

It seemed like a great idea to grill tonight until now it is pouring rain. 😕

I am normally not a person to pack to early for trips but seeing how it is cold in MN and warm where we are going it just makes sense to get it out of the way as I still work two days next week.

Sometimes you have to spend the last couple of minutes on a Friday cleaning your office so you know Monday will start out right.

Day is starting off pretty good so far… Coffee, Running, making a delicious breakfast and now more coffee while watching some Basketball. 😄

This whole article is great and the last part is just so spot on to some of my thoughts when my kids were younger and even for today. Not that I was always perfect but I tried my best to be present.

Being here on the floor with my little guy is enough. Because what could be happening on my phone that could possibly be more important than watching this little amateur human being mispronouncing “construction” as we’re sitting on the floor for a few minutes before he heads off to day care? For now, this is enough.

One of the reasons I really like the “On This Day” feature is that I run across gems like where I classified a 3.1 Mile run in 2016 as a Long Run.

Sitting in the airport now for the next 2 hrs (3 total) due to the first leg being delayed. However, this is giving me a great time to find a place to sit and watch some March Madness and close down some work things.

Haven’t even gotten to the airport and my flight is super delayed… Awesome…. Just awesome…

Normally this time of year I spend a lot of time watching Basketball all day but my day has been so busy I am just now getting around to it and wow there is a close game going on now and that is what it is all about!

Decided to get a quick run in after the swim meet today before heading to the airport. Now time to pack and make my way there. Some… would say I am cutting this close 😅

Another early morning at the pool today for our second day of swimming regionals. Yesterday faired out well so hopefully today is good as well.

I am reminded I should have brought a book or at a minimum my headphones as early swim is a lot of downtime while they warm up before the meet actually starts.

Big swim weekend for our youngest as she had 7 events of which all of them she is a second or so away from qualifying to state. So she need to get the time or win. 😬 Let’s go! 🦊

Now that I have a workable script for an "on this day" page for my Weblog.lol site, I am further tweaking it to work as I want it on my site.

Finally another break in the day since a meeting got canceled! I canceled it to spend time working on what we were going to discuss so I guess I need to do that now but it is good to not be on a call and actually get some work done.

Today is an eLearning day for my kids, so I will assume my productivity is not going to be stellar. However, I will trudge my way to the shed through the snow to focus.

Productive night watching a movie and just finished putting together a chart of pros and cons for different solo to larger consulting firms. This has been on the list for a while so glad to get something on paper and in order.

I will just say it... I spent more time than I like to admin in Obsidian this morning.

Well I have been at a computer pretty much all day so now that I have dropped my youngest off to swim I think it is time to hit the icy pavement.

Going into my 4th hr of back to back meetings for the day with still another hour to go after this one.

Next up some basketball to round out our sports evening.

Tough loss for the Eagles tonight the girls played tough and hard to see this season come to a close.

I have been horrible about staying on top of my personal emails lately. I think I need to start unsubscribing and filtering more stuff out again because this is a task I would like to go with out.

Paying the price for staying up late working last night. Glad I have today off though but right now I am kind of wondering if just working the morning would have been a better solution.

Finally getting around to wrapping up work for the night by getting an Intern Job Description ready for Recruiting, of course the format changed from last year.

Been feeling a bit under the weather this weekend. Was going to get a run in today while the sun was out but thought better about that as I think the rest is needed at this point.

Stumbled across a draft blog post I started and never finished even with photos I took from then as well. Well no better time than the present to post about how we last year.

Not that I have never seen a Coyote walk through my backyard but it is not common and the one today is causing big Darbs to go crazy.

It could have been a sleep in day as no early kid activities but the dogs had a plan. So here I sit reading posts, watching the snow come down and drinking some great coffee. Guess not a bad way to start a Saturday in the end. 🤷‍♂️

Glad I put in some extra miles earlier this week running as I am watching my backyard rink tarp blow around like crazy in addition to hearing the wind. I mean the sun might be out but I think it would be miserable to try to get some outdoor miles in today.

I feel like I feel a cold coming on and I am doing everything in my power to just tell myself it is in my head.

Not sure I can wait any longer to get outside today so now will have to do with a sunny 24°F. I will take it considering it was 5°F when I got up today.

Time to do some picture sorting and then editing now after the hockey game. I think a movie or show will be in order to pass the time too.

I have spent way too much time today messing around web stuff today but maybe that is ok. It might have just been the distraction I have needed and kept my attention and focus on my job and that and then away from everything else.

I think tonight once we get home it going to be a stay inside and pizza kind of night. Maybe a movie could be on the docket as well.

Well success of the girls hockey game this morning in an overtime win means we get a game at 7pm now tonight. So now the rest of the day we have a pending appointment and I might fall asleep. 😴 🙄

Up early for a Hockey tournament that starts today. 😴

Well I ended up spending a good chunk of the day working which was probably good as I have had something looming over my head to finish and I can finally check it off the list.

After what has been a busy last week I feel like I am finally just sitting in front of my computer. I might do a little work or might just catch up on some posts from others 😆.

I might be one of the only people excited in the state right now but we have snow! Also it is continuing to snow.

Siting at my daughter’s swim lessons tonight the warm pool area inside is making me sleepy.

I find simple accomplishments like replacing a burned out headlight that I noticed only 30 min ago a great confidence booster. Not because it was hard at all but something that I could just fix quickly.

Not a great start to the day but hoping a reboot will do the trick. It seems the “shed office” doesn’t have wireless working but thankfully the wired connection is working. 🤔

Spent the little bit of time I had this morning completing 1/4 Employee reviews that I need to have done by Tuesday. Feedback is a great tool I just don’t like the process currently and then the timing of it all. I might have to do something different for next year.

Up early because the dogs wanted to go outside but it is ok it has given me a nice slow start to the day with coffee and my own thoughts. Only just now grabbed my phone because we need to leave the house in 15 min for swimming.

I have this fear of committing to race events not because I am nervous about the distance but because then I am locked in to run at a certain time on a certain day. I am currently pondering this as our plans have changed and there is some local Turkey Trots in the area.

After a little delay in getting hose two going as the pipe was frozen in the front yard it is fixed and the second hose is going as of 8:50AM. Now we wait and watch.

Let the flooding commence! Got the tarp down with the help of my oldest daughter and had the first hose going at 8:25AM.

The past two weeks almost have been a whirlwind of stuff going on. I keep thinking there is a light at the end of the tunnel but not sure I see it yet. Or as they say the light is just another train! 🚂

Going to be a long day with some fun family activities. However, need to get the crew moving for our 3 hr drive.

It is 34°F right now and I think it is too early in the year to be thinking about the hockey rink. Also, shed heaters engaged as I need that building to warm up slightly as it might be a busy day.

Up early now to get the little traveler ready for her journey.

Time to crash as I have an early morning Airport run to make as the youngest is heading to New York City with my parents for her 10 year trip.

Last games of the volleyball season for the middle one. It has been fun watching and seeing her grow in this new to her sport.

Days like this even though they are busy I am happy when I find time to just sit around and catch up on things I have neglected during the week. It isn’t that I NEED to read the (Micro)blogs, posts, newsletters, or even status entries that I subscribe to but I enjoy that outlet and connection to those I know/follow.

Early morning swim meet today.. My legs are angry at me from yesterday’s hills.

One hour later only 45 min to kill till it is time to stumble around the forest. Should be fun, let’s hope the trail is marked better this year and we don’t get lost 😄

Feel like I didn’t sleep great but that seems to happen when I have an early morning “pending appointment”. Maybe this is why I don’t like being bound to timed events 😅

It seems like everyone in my neighborhood is having some sort of construction done right now. Some jackhammering at one house, tree cutting and mulching at another, and then someone decided to mow early today as well... This could be a long day.

Somedays I still have this thought I need to simplify my online stuff. I have an OK system now but I still am trying to figure out how a couple parts (i.e., social.lol and Micro.blog) should be intertwined. I think some of what makes it hard is that I have a lot of cross following and then I never know where to respond when I see it. I keep revisiting this with no good solution so I will box it in for now until another day. 🤷‍♂️

Went out early for a run today and was glad to see another @HemisphericViews dropped in my . In the quiet early morning hours, it was almost like I was running with friends, which helped pass the time. However, I guess it was only a one sided conversation but honestly, I might have been too out of breath to contribute anyway 😆

It really has been a long 7 days since I left home early last week Sunday. However, as much as I missed out on things at home this weekend it was good from a work and extended family perspective of what this weekend has brought. I am ready to fly home today thought.

It has been a long day and the busy part of the week has not even happened yet. It is going to be fun but exhausting couple work days . So for now time to crash before an early morning tomorrow to kick it off.

Using my time in flight wisely by building a running route for later today after I land. I am hoping I feel better and more rested later today as it was a super early morning and I fear it might backfire on me.

Flight was suppose to leave at 7:10AM… Finally we are taking off now.

Day one of Hockey Tryouts… I appreciate that she keeps her bit of nerves even though I know she will do fine.

This day is going to get busy driving around and then finding time to pack as I just realized I have a much earlier flight that I thought… I mean who booked that!

In a very strange not like me turn of events I feel like I have a handful of shows that I would like to watch. However, my problem is still finding the time.

Morning coffee and reading. I didn’t want to be up early but the dogs did so now we are on the couch enjoying the quiet.

I feel like I should be wrapping my workday up right now as most people are probably offline already. However, right now I am the one exploding people’s inbox as I try to continue to clear my plate before the weekend.

Thanks to the On This Day feature on my site that I use to look back at and clean up posts as necessary I realized I have been with my current company for 2 years now. Back then I was to our HQ to meet people from around the world I had never met. Time flies.

I actually have to drive into the city today for an event. I am just not used to such a commute anymore 😆

I am going to have to revisit my work email filters as some things have found some one off items that I really would prefer in my inbox vs in a folder of document shares or meeting invites.

I really enjoyed season 1 and 2 but then season 3 was a little odd. Now I get this is the reelection season but I think they took it in too many angles. However, overall I enjoyed this season and kind of wished there was one more to show after the aftermath.

Well this is not good… 😬

It is like I don’t have enough hockey from my own child or activities to attend. However, with a free hour I decided to watch my nephew play hockey.

Forgot this is the time of year when we wait to hear tryout results and tonight one is supposed to come out for a new sport for our middle child. The suspense!

Beautiful night for a cross country race. I decided to stick around after my sons race and watch some of the other kids I knew in other grade.

Just having lunch now at 3pm… Wait is this still considered lunch?

It will shock no one I am sure that I have been using a different Note taking app… Reverted back to Goodnotes for a while to give it a spin again.

First day of school for the youngest. I am an early morning person but for her to be catching the bus before 7am this year might make for a long one.

Since I was young I have always had this mindset to tinker and fix things myself vs junking it. Fingers crossed I bought the right switch to fix my small shop vac as it seems like it was the switch failed me. Time will tell I guess.

Well all of this stuff from the camper is not going to pack itself away in the shed and get washed soooo.. Probably should get started on it.

I think at this point I kind of do some targeted reading and then give up after a little while.

Two kids biking around the campsite taped cardboard on the frame so it make a noise when it hits all the spokes…. Love it!

I can’t believe I have not played miniature golf all year yet at the campgrounds. Well better late than never as the season for us is almost over so playing a round with the youngest.

Got to the camper and got everything setup and cleaned up in less than an hour. Too bad it seems so much easier about the time you are ready to close it down for the year. However, that is not now so now it is time to relax.

Guess we find out today that the boy is allergic to bee stings as he currently has a rash all over his body. Who would have known running was so dangerous. Unfortunately, he wasn’t the only victim as it seems the course took them right over a bees nest. 🙈

Early morning wake up today not for me to run but to drop my son off to get to an early morning cross country meet on the other side of town.

Decided it was time to do a little cleaning in the shed office today so I spent 15 min inbetween meetings to dust and sweep. I guess not being a part of the house it probably gets done less. 😬

Long day of work and running around today. Glad to be closing the laptop now for the night.

Time to get back at it today. However, of course in looking at something late last night I realized that my Status.lol is not syncing over to Micro.blog. I will need to resist digging into that much today as I should get some work done.

Finally power back on and home for the night. It has really been a whirlwind of a 24 hrs with probably less work done than I had hoped. However, grateful for close family and also being able to help out friends.

Thankful for the dual SIM cards today as my ATT one is dead in the water due to the storm but my Verizon one is working great so at least some things have been accomplished.

Still no power this morning. This is going to make for a real interesting day. Might have to drive to a coffee shop or something to charge up devices.

Just upgraded my site to the newest version 1.15.2. I have been dragging my feet on this for a while as I assumed I would break something but it was actually really easy and as simple as the instructions said.

This might be one of those days the shed office is not going to do well due to the humidity outside and I don't have a dehumidifier in here. It is cool but you can still feel the moisture in the air. I might have to head back to the house for working this afternoon.

As we just closed out on Summer hockey today it is time to register for the normal season of hockey with pre-season clinics starting this week.

After taking over 1200 pictures in 4 hockey games, now it is time to review and edit…

It is that time of year again for Cross Country to start for our oldest. Tonight is an under the lights time trial. I think this sounds like fun but I don’t think my son feels the same.

The youngest is doing some lap swimming tonight so it gives me some time to catch up on all things I don’t . Also, I can watch her practice and when I mean practice I mean video herself for later critiquing as well. 😂

Sometimes after a day off of work I think I need about a solid 2 hrs in the morning to catch up on things before really tackling the day. That did not happen today and probably paying the price.

The youngest is maybe more exited to do a long bike ride than I anticipated. I guess we will see how this goes today.

I am going to take advantage of my new free rest of the morning after getting a run in to catch up on some blogs and what not.

Always glad I have an extra propane tank on hand at home just incase the main one runs out. Otherwise dinner tonight would be even more delayed.

Sitting at the DMV…

Doing a little website migrations again today to hopefully get everything back to one place and archive other sites.

I really enjoy just randomly looking through old photos and videos with my kids of when they were young.

I am not doing this taking Friday's off right as last Friday and today I am still working about 50-75% of the day. Today I hope to be close to the 50% as I am almost done with what I need to get done for the day. I guess I have next Friday off too so maybe I can drop that percentage more then.😅

After doing some cleanup this weekend I was reconnected with my OneWheel… However, after thinking I was charging it the last couple of days I am sad to say I must have a dead battery as it isn’t charging and won’t turn on.

Having been forced to use my Windows computer for the last week I am sitting with nothing to do waiting for tech support to get back to me so I can log in to said Windows computer from this CroudStrike issue. On the other hand my Mac computer is fine but I cannot log into work from there anymore.

Today is one of those days that I just really want to be outside as the weather looks and feels amazing on my walk to and from the office.

Every time I have to do our big team presentations I spend the 2 min before the meeting to figure out the quick key to make Google slides not be in full screen. So I am going to put it here to remind myself and anyone else that might need it. Ctrl + Shift + F

I am actually shocked that after 3 years Automattic has not made some sort of integration to post DayOne entries to WordPress. Personally I would love to be able to post it seemly to any blog but more surprised that it doesn’t with WordPress.

Who would have guessed all my syncing issues could be solved by reading the actual guide to figure out a trick to get it to sync properly. The amount of time I have spent on all of my devices trying to make the icons match is madding after finding out all I had to do was flip the Icons Background Check. 😖

Cool cool… I think Darkroom had an update and wiped all my presets.

I will give it up soon but for now I will continue to complain that I am working on this Windows computer today.

I think my days for using my Mac for work are done for now as access has been restricted to only company devices. Can’t blame them but my hope is on the PC Refresh (whenever that happens) I can score one. 🤞

Not sure why I try to start random projects early in the morning as I know my first day back to work this week is full of meetings.

I am pretty sure nothing beats breakfast on a griddle. Today’s breakfast was egg, bacon, and Peper jack cheese on a bagel.

4th of July Family Fun Run Completed!

It is looking like it might be a very wet 4th of July today…. Could make for some interesting activities like running and sitting for a parade.

It seems that somehow I convinced 2 of my kids members and 2 of my brothers kids to run a 5k race tomorrow before a parade. Now the question is do I “race” or run with them. 🤔

Trying to still find a better way to get my entries on M.b into DayOne as the RSS route doesn’t pull in all pictures which I am guessing because DayOne strips out HTML.

Feels quite strange only working one day this week but already looking for the weekend and the day/work week is half over.

I have an old WordPress site that I have no plans to do much with anymore but would like to keep it. With that said I am thinking it would be great to make it more of a “static” site and wondering if anyone has any recommendations to move it that format. I am thinking M.b. but open to any options.

A rainy day at the campsite means playing games, doing some available crafts, and catching up on everything I have missed on the internet.

I know I shouldn’t expect more, but it still frustrates me that some shortcuts I modify on my iPhone do not work on my Mac. I have to edit the parts that it thinks don't exist on macOS, even though they are there.

Minus this continual rain… I do enjoy this cooler weather but since I am not training for anything right now. I will sit inside and drink coffee today.

It took a lot of thought and planning but Spring Break 2025 is booked! Figured we had to do something bigger than normal as the Spring Break weeks aligned next year.

Let’s just say I got schooled in driveway pickleball tonight… I want to do some rules research as I think my kids were making it up in the fly. However, I finally started getting the hang of it and beat my son in one game…. 🫣 Rematch!

It is nice to be back working from the “shed” office today.

Earning my volunteer hours today for Swimming as I had to troubleshoot connecting the livestream to the cameras due to some IP issues.

Early morning for a basketball tournament today. Last games of the season for the Thunder!

When I work up this morning I think all the traveling and late nights had caught up to me as I was exhausted.

I am at my car ready to drive home from the Airport exactly 19 hrs since I left the cab in Portland, ME when I was timing myself to see how fast I could get through security. 😅

Final leg of the day we are just pushing off which is exciting as this morning I really wasn’t sure I was going to make it to this point by the end of the day.

Finally after over 12hrs I have left the airport and heading to yes... Another Airport but at least I am flying and flying in the right direction.

“What are you doing?” asks Status.lol… - Well, I guess I am still in the same airport I was about 11 hrs ago… and counting…🤨🫣😵😑😖🫥

Well this day isn’t getting much better. I am on the fence that I should just take a cab back to my office here to get more work done than sitting here in the airport. I am sure I should as this flight will get delayed again but I am going to try to sit here and be productive.

Well this day is going to get interesting… We are getting off the plane now until the mechanics come and fix the issue. Where are these people were they not at work yet?

After all that work getting through the airport and boarding quickly for nothing as they have to swap out a computer in the aircraft. So here we sit… Wonder if this is going to screw up my connection 😬

Early morning flying today but waiting for a taxi took longer than expected at the hotel. However, I wasn’t all worried as getting through the airport is quick. In fact I timed myself from the point I stepped out of the cab till I got through security and was in front of my gate. It took 6 min 49 seconds.

Already got a run in today and now I need to search for some coffee on this property.

Not going to lie I am not at all upset by this Uber drivers choice in music…

Watching some hockey… Obviously but this time my nephew. Older boys hockey is Fast!

I used to only be a casual running hat wearer until two people in the same year gifted me one and now I have been wearing them all the time. However, this morning I forgot it and feel naked… 😰

Well it is a cool Saturday morning right now so hope that plays in my favor as I try to help a friend get through a lot of miles this morning.

Not ready for the Monday (Tuesday) morning today to start this short week off but here goes!

Completely forgot that I had a call for work tonight as it is everyone from Australia that is on the call... Two weeks ago this seemed like a great idea. Thanks again for all the help Past Eric 😑

Raining outside this morning so it feel to me like a perfect excuse to sit inside, drink some coffee, and do maybe nothing all day.

Drinking some coffee this morning while the crew sleeps and catching up on the RSS feeds. Should I have went for a run today, maybe but I think this morning will be a lot of walking around so I will count that as good enough exercise for the day.

For the second time in my life a hotel checked me into and gave me the key to a room where someone was already in it.

Not sure about anyone else but doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in their process and since I was traveling with my two girls we exited stage left (some other reasons too).

I think at this point two days past my phone erase I have the apps I frequently use. I am going to guess I am still missing a couple less frequent ones and time will tell.

Everytime I am on a call or read an email that keeps stressing “Open Communication” I know it is anything but and decisions are either already made or will really be made regardless of the input given.

Thankfully I actually woke up this morning because due to my phone watch shenanigans from yesterday I realized I actually didn’t have any alarms set 😳

Looks like with this product lineup I never have to do yard work again. Can’t wait till they add the attachment to pick up sticks.

I think it is time… Erasing phone NOW!

Just doing some photo editing / review from the kids activities yesterday. Always amazed at how good this camera takes pictures and then sad when I realized there was a user error in some that I thought were going to be good shots. 🤷‍♂️

Every time I want to post a status.lol with a coffee cup I can never find it in these Fluent Emojis as “coffee” or “cup”. So I took the time to quickly search the web to understand what my keyword should be and sure enough it is called a “hot beverage”.

I guess that makes sense. 🤷‍♂️

Slow Saturdays have been a highlight when we have them. Didn’t really sleep in but no activities for the kids till later today. So coffee and catching up on things for me.

Friday night and no better place to be than a hockey rink watching our hockey player play.

Time to catch up on the inter webs as I am waiting for my son to get a haircut. The cost of his haircuts make my head spin as I always went cheap and now a days I just cut it myself 🫣

Asked a question by email to my youngest dance studio… I am wondering this time how I will receive the response it might be a carrier pigeon as last time I think the sign in the door was directed at me but I received no email response.

Already at the pool today for the youngest swim meet. I am sure all the mothers appreciate coming and spending the morning here.

I like when all of the dances for our youngest happen on one day for dance competitions but….. It makes for a loooonggg day… 😵‍💫

I think I am going to regret that refreshing Cold Brew Coffee I had a while ago. Also, maybe that I dozed off on the plane for a spell too.

Well good thing I have a long layover at the next stop as we have been sitting on the runway for 45 min past takeoff time…

It has been a while and as much as I don’t want to today I am going to clean some windows.

After a busy day yesterday I think today is going to be a lazy day.

Up early on a Saturday for a dance competition… 💃

Early first meeting of the day got moved so decided to take that and the sun shining as a sign to go run.

I don’t want a new phone but I kind of want to just wipe my phone so it is fresh again as I think I have a lot of applications and things installed that I don’t need anymore. Just weighing the effort this might take now…. 🤔

Starting the morning by trying to get a dishwasher repair person out to fix the dishwasher. Always fun…

Kind of glad my first meeting got moved, but this seems to happen a lot with one person. I appreciate the time back, but now my Friday is looking awful. Likely it will move again, which is the frustrating part. Now time for some annual training so I can stay in compliance.

Day seemed to have gotten derailed work wise as my youngest I need to take to the doctors.

Oddly enough I actually don’t mind mornings. However, I don’t like early mornings that I have to make sure sleeping kids are up and moving. Even though they are older now.

Who is up for an elementary fun run…🙋‍♂️ Now let’s see how much fun my youngest really has and hopefully we don’t get rained on.

Up early today or just as early as a normal work day but we will be at a hockey rink all day. Should be a fun day but kind of wish I could sleep in as looking at the weekend there is more early morning activities on the horizon.

I can already tell this is going to be a busy week with activities… Tonight another Hockey game let’s go.. Edge!

Was looking at One This Day link for my site and I saw the following … This came from my Instagram import so I went there to figure out if I had a location or anything and nothing. Why did I post it I feel like there had to have been some reason behind it right? So now I am searching…

I run into this constant question in my head every 2-3 years that I want to change my domain name. I think ponder that for about another month or so. I feel like what I have works but then I think of all the domains names / sites I have and wonder if I should attempt to consolidate them to a degree. Unless for a specific project.

Do you ever find old Drafts in your blog editor of choice or even in other applications that you come across and then just finally decide to hit post… Currently doing that a little bit today so if anyone sees noise sorry about that.

Due to the face we have been up so early today with no real reason my coffee consumption is pretty high already and it isn’t even 8am.

- Not a bad movie at all and as much as I can’t remember the first two I like the underlying story in this one.

Decided a little last minute to head down and open up the camper today. It will be a different kind of work that I guess is “good”.

Finally found some time to put all of the smaller hockey boards away for the season. Still kind of bitter sweet feeling this year about the outcome.

Not sure why but I decided I would update my today since I haven't for a while. Not too much has changed but it got me thinking instead of a now page. Should I just create a blog post with a tag of Now and refresh it every week or two to see how things progress or changed.

️ Responding to dance emails addressed specifically to me for my youngest daughter has become the low light for this past year. Mostly because on the reverse if I send something to said company emails I think my emails might be filtered to the trash.

Lets see how this works, I am going going to see if i can post this short text directly from Obsidian to status.lol thanks to plugin.

I decided to use this time creating a system to tackle emails and documents that I recieve in my work Gmail vs actually tackling the emails themselves. 🤷‍♂️

Doing a little big of “blog gardening” this morning before it will be heads done until 1pm. I find it interesting sometimes when I know posts are not where I would have remembered or off a day. I correct them now (not that it matters) but mostly just so they show up on the right “On This Day.”

Glad to have a breather after a long morning mostly schedule but lot of other unplanned meetings. I am ready to call it a day. I would love to go running but the weather has other ideas for me 😕

Grabbed my running stuff today and was reminded that I still have an older iMac Mini that I have yet to do anything with as it sits on top of the one that is running as a backup and Plex meida device. I really should add doing something with that one to my list of things to do.

I probably waited long enough to finish this, but… Taxes are done and electronically filed.

Rounding out the weekend watching some hockey.

Lack of sleep and sitting in a dark dance theater is really making me want to goto sleep. However, so much left to do today so might need the find a coffee later this afternoon.

Going to spend most of today watching the youngest at her dance competition. I can’t believe how packed it is here but I am not required to do anything but sit and watch so not a bad thing.

- I am not sure why I haven’t watched this movie yet but a good show to watch with M tonight as we didn’t have anything else on.
