I'm genuinely surprised there hasn't been more discussion about the latest stuff with the Chinese volunteers. They complained to Board about being told that their Weibo account was going to be shut down in 30 days, and then when Board replied it turns out that Board and the Comms chairs had been planning this shut down for YEARS. Without discussing it with the mods or a single Chinese speaking volunteer in the org. For those of you keeping up with the game these Comms chairs suddenly up and quit the org entirely a few weeks ago. So now a bunch of Chinese speaking volunteers are telling the Board they are xenophobic and racist, which, just in case there was any doubt, they absolutely are.

"Excessive workload for the mods". You know. The mods that no one had talked to about this for the multiple years the discussion was happening.
oh and Comms not being able to provide "supervision and oversight" because of the language barrier. Because having a Chinese speaking comms chair was too much of a reach I guess.
Board then said that the Weibo account would not be immediately shut down, but that they would meet with Comms to discuss it. Guess who they failed to invite to that meeting?
Funny how OTW's mission of serving fans under threat just evaporates when they happen to not speak English.
