Fuck yes! I've just won a fiver! I bet M that there would be a pop at Twilight within five opening comments on this FFR rant, (it was considered to be a sure thing that there would be a LOLZ TWILIGHT comment.)

Nice sunny day and surprise beer money, I hope this is a good omen for the weekend.  :D

of course there was going to be a Twilight joke. Twilight jokes are the pinnacle of humor, it would be cruel to deprive us of one at even the most tangential opportunity.

I thought about it, but since I know exactly how the conversation will go it's easier to have it with myself.

There's nothing wrong with flaming limp-wristers, I'm just pointing out it's OOC for these Totally Manly Characters. Of course I had to use such derogatory language to do it, this is a rant community. And it had to be homophobia-charged language 'cause you people get all bitchy when anyone says "acting like girls" when they're talking about flaming limp-wristy behavior.

The upside is, if I know the argument by heart I'm less compelled to get involved. If I have no genuine curiosity about how the ranter will defend herself, I'll only hop in if I'm feeling social justice-y, and it's easier for me to say "pick your battles, you do not have the energy" if that's my only motivation.

But it would be nice to just once have it deviate from the script.

At first I tried to bet for ten comments, but M wasn't having any of it. XD It got a bit hairy there for a second, but FFR came through for me. \o/

Thank you! ♥ And thank you for the comment you made over there about the 'flaming limp-wristers' line. It bothered me but I didn't have the energy for the "I don't mean it like that! It's a rant community! OMG oversensitive much?" reaction.

*slow clap* You called it XD

"Flaming limp-wristers" bothers me more than it should, TBH, but I don't have the energy (or the Internet) to get into it.

I felt exactly the same way about that, TBH. Having a good day - even if my brain wasn't kicking in - couldn't be dealing with slow explanations of why the OP fails. :(

[livejournal.com profile] hector_rashbaum and I just did a run-through (http://ted.dreamwidth.org/1413.html) instead, for the sake of propriety. ;)
