I'm going to get my highlights done today and also, I'm going to discuss what the devil to do with my hair for the wedding. I had been thinking putting it up but now, I don't know. I never put my hair up (unless its in a pony tail under a baseball cap because it looks like crap) or if I even want to bother going to the salon on the day of the wedding. I'm going to have enough to worry about that day without adding my hair to the mix. Advice, friends?

I say go with whatever makes you the most comfortable. It would drive me nuts to have my hair up and all fussy, too! Plus I have a very sensitive scalp and I'm sure the pins would start to hurt about five minutes after I left the salon. I'm a wuss that way. :O

And if you wear it down you can show off the snazzy highlights better.

How about wearing it down with a snazzy barrette or hair comb?

Do whatever feels good! Although I will say that salon time, even if it's just to have someone else wash and style your hair, might feel *really* good amid all the other hecticness of the day. S omeone will be pamping *you*. ♥

I think my question is the one [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon raised -- would going to the salon on the day of the wedding feel like a break for you (a chance to take a breath and let someone else care for you for a bit) or are you likely to have so much to do that you will feel rushed if you have to take the time for the salon appointment? Me, I would probably do the salon thing; hell, how often does this kind of event come along? But if it's going to make you stressed out, then do what's easy.

Based purely on observation of moms on the wedding morn, I'd say go to the salon (and make sure it's not the same salon as the bride!) and have them do your hair. You can decide that morning if you feel like up or down, but having an hour to yourself will be priceless I suspect. Especially if you have folks staying at your house!
