texBecause I've fallen for the wonderful Downton Abbey. It's so rich and powerful yet understated in the way that really good drama is. It's filmed beautifully, too. I just can't take my eyes away.
Of course, it points out something truly sad about the state of American entertainment. Hollywood gives us continual remakes and sequels and shit like Jersey Shore and The Real Housewives. The UK gives us Downton Abbey. Thank you, cousins.

Date: 2011-10-17 10:36 pm (UTC)You could say that America escapes into a fantasy take on present reality and that the UK escapes into a fantasy take on the past, but then again the UK brought out Geordie Shores and America has Mad Men...wait, where was I going with this?
Have you checked out Luther? That's another of my must watch list, and apparently it even gets better in season two, so yay.
