I would like to use that greyed-out text thing for both my warnings header and the pairing header for the fusion (because I kinda want the pairing to be a surprise, even though that might not work for anyone who actually, you know, knows me), but I am unsure how to do so. I found one post that has some html in it, but I don't completely understand how it works (span? anchor? I don't see any boats nearby), and that makes it difficult to adapt it for the pairing as well as the warning. Anyone want to take pity on me and explain it in tiny words, also including the html I need to use? I would be most appreciative!

Yeah, I'm definitely not feeling well, but I'm drinking rooibos tea and relaxing. And working on trying to put together a new index page for my website, with links to both old stories and new. I used Scrivener, which I think [livejournal.com profile] chickwriter was recommending, and exported it as an html file. It looks like all the links and the bold and spacing went through, but not the font or the font size. I am rather dumb when it comes to coding (which is the whole point of using Scrivener, which I'm figuring has got to be better for converting to html than Word, which is what I usually do), but I'd like to change the font to something nice and readable and san serif like Optima, which is what I was using on Scrivener. Anyone want to tell me how to do that? Or just take my bare bones html file and pretty it up for me? It's just the index page that needs to be updated (and then my links to my home page on LJ, since they're still going to my old site, but I can handle that), although I wouldn't mind adding the banner that [livejournal.com profile] sdwolfpup made me for my LJ.

ETA: And by "pretty it up for me" I mean make the font better and maybe add the banner, but don't do anything to it that would make it impossible for me, with my incredibly lame knowledge, to update it with new links and edit things when I post new stories and the like.
