TEAM RULES

  • All members of your team must be accepted and registered as UTRA Hacks 2024 participants.
  • Teams may have up to 6 members, all of whom must be in-person.
  • You may not be a part of more than one team.
  • A team can only submit one project through one challenge (autonomous rover OR open) and one theme (healthcare, space, OR environment).

COMPETITION RULES

  • The code, short intro, and video of the functioning robot (presentation slides, or all-inclusive video format are both accepted) for your project must be submitted at utrahacks.devpost.com before 1:30 PM EST on Sunday, January 21st to be eligible to demo your project.
  • It is permitted and recommended to install any necessary software in advance.
  • It is permitted to ideate your project out in advance.
  • It is permitted to 3D-print parts in advance.
  • Assembly of hardware projects in advance is NOT permitted.
  • Plagiarism is not tolerated and any teams with plagiarized work will be disqualified.
  • You may use any publically available libraries/packages/design assets.

Past Hackers ELIGIBILITY RULES

  • Past hackers are welcome to participate and have been noted down. However, past project ideas and build cannot be used or submitted for UTRA Hacks 2024.

SUBMISSION RULES

  • Submissions may not be submitted to multiple hackathons.
  • Submissions must include all design assets and source code created at UTRA Hacks 2024 (e.g. via a link to your GitHub repository).
  • After submission and in-person demo judging, all teams must return their lended robot kit items to the "Bot Disassembly Zone" unless told otherwise.

UTRA HACKS JUDGING RULES

  • You must go to your assigned in-person judging room at your assigned time or your project will not be judged.
  • You will have 9 minutes for the autononmous vehicle challenge to complete the entire challenge. It is recommended that you plan out how you will use your time for the autonomous rover challenge as you will only have your allotted time to complete all challenges and/or repeat any of the challenges (with judge feedback). It is recommended to leave time at the end for judges to ask questions and/or give feedback (at the discretion of the judges).
  • For the open challenge, you will have 7 minutes to present your pitch including explaining your problem and theme chosen (Healthcare, Space, or Environment) and the respective prototype that you have made (live demo of the unique functions of the robot). Aftwerwards, there will be a 5-min Q&A led by the judge(s) present at your assigned judging location. 

SPONSORSHIP JUDGING RULES

  • All projects that opt-in to any MLH sponsor prizes must indicate so on their devpost submission.
  • You may submit to multiple sponsor prizes.
