The Greater Toronto Area, or the GTA, is Canada’s biggest metropolitan area. It boasts a multicultural population of 5.5 million people within an area of about 7,000 square kilometres.​

Like any major cosmopolitan city, Toronto offers the best in culture, recreation, education and health care. It’s got several world-class universities; major league soccer, baseball, hockey and football teams; a great public education system and countless options for religious or private education; and plenty of parks and wilderness are within an easy drive.  ​

Within the GTA, Vale has three work sites with a total of about 850 employees. Our employees live across the GTA, commuting by train, subway, car, bicycle, or on foot to our sites.​

 The financial district of Toronto’s downtown core is the headquarters of Vale’s Base Metals business, where you’ll find our Canadian corporate functions, such as IT, strategic planning, human resources and legal.​

Mississauga, Ontario, just west of Toronto, is home to Vale’s Base Metals Technology Development team. ​

Our Shared Services Organization, located in North York, Ontario (the north part of the city) works to improve the flow and quality of internal support services, such as information technology, procurement, finance and human resources.​
