BACKGROUND
When your planet is invaded by an alien species and is dragged into its centuries worth of civil war, you would have a chip on your shoulder too.

Constantly inebriated, always brilliant and so very disinterested in manners or politics, Cerise has seemingly faced it all: The destruction of her beloved Paris, France. The revelation that giant alien mechanoids have brilliantly decided that Earth would become the latest battlegrounds for their gruelling war. The painful decision to offer up her daughter for experimentation if it meant having a daughter at all. The fact she has to be sober during boring state dinners to ensure funds would be sent to Dust Tumbles, her current residence.

But then her daughter, her beloved little girl, just had to stumble upon the truth of what’s happening to Earth with her friends one faithful summer vacation after they discovered an injured scout for the supposed good guy aliens. Soon it triggers a series of events that would have Cerise watching her daughter leave the planet and be left with the uncertainty of whether or not she’ll ever see her child again.

There’s not enough wine in the world to help her deal with this mess but she’ll find away. If she can decode not one but two alien languages during the bloody height of the Shadow Wars, then she sure as hell can survive this.
