Action:
[No no no no no no. No. That's not her mom. That's not her mom, and this isn't the airport, and it's another nightmare, it has to be. What else could it be? It's a dream and it's not her dream and that means she's trapped.]
[Anybody in New Bark will likely catch the sight of a little girl slowly backing away from the house she'd woken up in with wide eyes before breaking into a run and coming to a stop next to some trees to dig through her backpack. Except it's not her own backpack. And the things inside aren't what she wants or needs them to be.]
[Which is a big stressor to a kid who has no idea what to do.]
Audio, later:
Hello? Mr- Parkman? I didn't do anything, I promise.
[Spoken with the urgency of children who want to prove themselves innocent everywhere.]
Please let me out.

audio;
Hey, kid. You all right?
[Probably a stupid question, but you know what, it's as good a place to start as any.]
audio;
[It's an immediate response from a kid who's now cautiously on guard - but at the same time relieved to hear a voice that doesn't sound like it wants to do her harm.]
audio;
Name's Yusuke. I got your call just now. Everything okay over there?
audio;
I don't know how to get out. Are you trapped here too?
audio;
Yeah. A lot of the people in this place are. It's not just us.
[That probably isn't very reassuring, all things considered, but... well. He tried.]
Lemme guess, you just woke up here?

[ Have a small Japanese girl staring into the camera, too excited for audio. That sure sounds like another girl her age! Oh gosh, this never happens! ]
Um, I don't know who Parkman-san is, but hi! My name's Mimi Tachikawa! Are you new here?
[video]
[Person, you are far too cheerful for what Molly thinks this is.]
- um, yes ... I mean, I don't know where I am. Can you help me?
[video]
[ Mimi thinks for a second. ]
I think you're probably in New Bark Town! If you just got here, I mean. That's where everyone starts out! Do you have a Pokémon? Are you American? What's your name?
[video]
[That doesn't sound like anywhere she knows, but ... it's a start.]
[As are those questions, apparently. Molly's a little caught off guard but she doesn't exactly mind, even if she's not sure how to keep up.]
My name's Molly- what's a pockmon?

Who's Parkman? [Veronica, like many people here did not know who that was.] Hey, if you're worried for him, he's probably not here. You're far away from him.
...Are you okay?
[Audio]
I'm okay.
[She's not quite okay.]
I just have to get back home.
[Audio]
You have to get back home? [Oh dear, this all seemed really weirdly familiar.] I'm sorry, but, that's not going to happen.
[Audio]
Nobody can stay anywhere forever.
[Right??]

Who's mister Parkman?
Why do you need to be let out?
Are you in a cage?
[Audio]
[She can't really help answering with the kind of impatient condescending tone kids love going for with younger kids. It's universal, okay.]
No, I'm not.
I have to get home.
[Audio]
Everybody says we can't go home and that home is really far away.
Like in a different world far away.
I didn't know there even were different worlds!
Did you?
[Audio]
[She kind of huffs that. Not quite the debate she was looking for at the moment.]
But it doesn't matter. If someone put us here, someone can get us out.

Too bad, kid, you're stuck here. I don't know who Mr. Parkman is, but he probably didn't have anything to do with it.
[audio]
[At this point, while she's still scared, she's also getting kind of frustrated. People are telling her lots of things but not who's doing it. Or how to get home.]
So I can't be stuck here.
[audio]
Our best guess right now is this big white giraffe-thing.
[Who may or may not be a god, Envy's not entirely sure.]
And before it showed up to be noble and graceful at us a few months ago, we didn't have any guesses at all. I've been here four years, and that was the first hint we got.
So feel free to go off giraffe-hunting, if you want. But I doubt you'll have much luck.
[audio]
You haven't been home for four years?

[...oh dear.]
Woah- hey, are you okay?
[Said Jimmy as he echoed the masses.]
[video]
I'm okay. [Not really, but she's not as scared now, so it's not a lie.] I don't want to be here but everybody's telling me I can't go home.
[video]
You sure? I mean...well...everybody's right. Mostly.
[He pauses, rubbing the back of his neck.]
There's no way to go home that we know of...but people just leave sometimes, too. It's just random when it happens, though. And I don't think people who first show up are very likely to just...leave, I guess? But you never know.
[video]
How long have you been here?
