Philipp Rittershaus

Philipp has gained extensive experience as LifeScience Investor at the High-Tech Gruenderfonds and has a background in industrial biotechnology. Philipp holds a Doctorate degree in Biotechnology from the University of Hohenheim, an MBA in Engineering Management from the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim and a Master in technical Biology from the University of Stuttgart.

Hans-Henning Schuur

COO & Head of Partnerships

Henning grew up in agriculture, gaining early insight into the sector’s balance between tradition and transformation. With a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Göttingen, he has worked at the intersection of politics, business, and innovation—first as a parliamentary advisor on agriculture, environment, and energy, then as Public Affairs Manager and Deputy Managing Director of the Marketing Association for Lower Saxony’s Agri-Food Sector. He led the development of the "Alternative Proteins" division and built a network of over 50 companies. As a member of the EU CAP Expert Group, he focuses on translating innovations into practice through policy, business models, and strategic collaborations.

Meike Staffeldt

Startup & Marketing Lead

Meike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and joined RootCamp with a background in Development Economics, after completing a double Master’s degree at the University of Florence and the University of Göttingen. Her academic focus has been on food security, climate change, and resource-related conflicts in the Global South, and during her university years, she worked on supporting research projects in sustainable food systems. Beyond the academic scope, she also has practical experience in event organisation and customer service.

Annkathrin Wahbi

PROJECT AND INNOVATION MANAGER

Annkathrin holds a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the Georg-August-University in Göttingen and has studied Sustainable International Agriculture in Germany and Chile. Her work experience includes academic research, project management, and innovation in various countries and institutions, such as KWS, Oxfam, and the DAAD. As Project & Innovation Manager at RootCamp, she is responsible for various projects and business development activities.

Aline Fernandes

Junior Project Manager

Aline Fernandes is a Brazilian environmental engineer with over 10 years of experience in sustainability-focused research. Her work has covered a broad range of topics, including soil management, biogas production, mycorrhizal networks, and ecosystem functioning. She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany), where her research explored how plants interact and potentially support each other’s nutrition through mycorrhizal networks, and how these interactions influence overall ecosystem functioning. Beyond academia, Aline has applied her expertise as an entrepreneur in Brazil, where she founded and led an environmental consultancy company. Throughout her career, she has worked across interdisciplinary projects that connect scientific research with practical solutions for a more sustainable future.

Nora Lehmann

Bioeconomy and Sustainability Project Manager

Nora has a background in classical economics and industrial ecology, and brings with her work experience in innovation and business development in the food retail industry at Schwarz Group. More recently, she worked on sustainability assessment of alternative proteins and fats, with a focus on life cycle assessment for fermentation-based processes. After spending the past three years in one of the prime startup ecosystems in Europe, she has moved back from Stockholm to join RootCamp as a project manager for sustainability and bioeconomy in the Cross-Industry-Innovation Lab (CIIL).

Ilka is an experienced agronomist and project manager. Her experiences include research activities at the Ohio State University (USA), management of vegetable production under protected conditions in Nicaragua (where she is originally from), and lately as a project operations consultant at the UN-FAO. Ilka holds a Master's Degree in International Horticulture from the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany), and a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture from the Pan-American University of Agriculture (Zamorano), located in Honduras.
