The mission of YoungMD Connect (YMDC) is to provide mentorship and educational opportunities for young and aspiring ophthalmologists. There are many paths within a career in ophthalmology—knowing all of your options and engaging with more experienced colleagues helps to find the right fit. YMDC aims to reach everyone from medical students who are just realizing their interest in ophthalmology to specialized ophthalmologists who are navigating the early stages of their career after training—and all of the residents and fellows in between. Our goal is to provide a platform that facilitates meaningful connections in the eye care community and empowers the next generation of leaders to make informed decisions about the future.
