About Us

YoungMD Connect (YMDC) is a membership-based mentorship and educational platform designed to connect aspiring and young ophthalmologists with their peers and mentors. Launched in January 2021, the platform now serves a community of 1,000 members and has delivered more than 200 hours of mentorship and education.

Investing in the next generation isn’t new for the team at BMC, the parent company of YMDC. Since the 2013 launch of the digital publication MillennialEYE (now folded into YMDC as Bookmarked) and the 2014 launch of the annual MillennialEYE Live meeting (now YMDC Live), BMC has long been dedicated to educating and empowering the future leaders in the field. YMDC takes this support one step further by offering weekly touchpoints that range from mentorship and educational programs, to introductions to thought leaders and industry partners, to in-person networking events.

We are passionate about educating and empowering the next generation of eye care leaders and invite you to let us be a part of your journey. We know that ultimately your goal is to deliver the best patient care possible, and YMDC provides the tools and connections to support you in this pursuit.
