There are still three issues remaining, but it's time for the final showdown with Starro, and Superwoman's origin! Why does she hate men so much? A much more pertinent question than why David Finch drew Starros with four tentacles for the cover!

Nightwing's " Cirque du Sin " arc wrapped up this month.
Feb. 22nd, 2026 10:24 amIt started in October 2024 - it's been seventeen issues and one annual.
It's the Cirque, which Dick'd encountered as Robin, having designs on him and Blüdhaven.
In issue #132, he'd confronted the Cirque's representative Olivia Pearce - and seen her face.
( Her master, the Zanni, came out of it. )

Won’t Someone Think of the Corporations?: JUSTICE LEAGUE QUARTERLY #1 (JLI 61)
Feb. 22nd, 2026 07:59 pm
The launch of Justice League Quarterly might’ve seemed excessive, but in retrospect, it let Giffen, DeMatteis, and Jones explore a few story concepts in depth that otherwise might’ve been sent to the margins. First up was Booster Gold’s new super-team, the Fighting Shills. No, wait, I mean the Intellectual Property. No, wait, I mean the Bought-And-Paid-For Hacks. No, wait, I mean…the Conglomerate? Are we SURE that’s their name?
( In 1990, the name ‘‘Citizens United’’ would’ve said ‘super-team’ more than ‘‘overextension of corporate power.’’ )

Another tradition of forming a super-hero team: the members having a little bit of conflict first.

Weather Alert: Good gentles all, charge your devices [meteo, DC/NYC/MA]
Feb. 21st, 2026 06:47 pmIf you live in the BosWash Corridor, especially in NYC-to-Boston, you need to be paying attention to the weather. We have an honest to gosh Nor'easter blizzard predicted for the next 3 days, with heavy wet snow and extremely high winds – the model predicts the damn thing will have an eye – which of course is highly predictive of power outages due to downed lines.
Plug things what need it into electricity while ya got it.
Whiteout conditions expected. The NWS's recommendation for travel is: don't. Followed by recommendations for how to try not to die if you do: "If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle."
I would add to that: if you get stranded in your car by snow and need to run the engine for heat, you must also periodically clear the build-up of snow blocking the tailpipe, or the exhaust will back up into the passenger compartment of the car and gas you to death.
As always, for similar reasons do not try to use any form of fire to heat your house if the regular heat goes out, unless you have installed the necessary hardware into the structure of your house, i.e. chimneys, fireplaces, and wood stoves, and they have been sufficiently recently serviced and you know how to operate them safely. The number one killer in blizzards is not the cold, it's the carbon monoxide from people doing dumb shit with hibachis.
NWS says DC to get 2 to 4 inches, NYC/BOS to get 1 to 2 feet. Ryan Hall Y'all reports some models saying up to 5 inches in DC and up to three feet in NYC and BOS.
2026 Feb 21 (5 hrs ago): Ryan Hall Y'all on YT: "The Next 48 Hours Will Be Absolutely WILD...". See particularly from 3:30 re winds.
If somehow you don't already have a preferred regular source of NWS weather alerts – my phone threw up one compliments of Google, and I didn't even know it was authorized to do that – you can see your personal NWS alerts at https://forecast.weather.gov/zipcity.php , just enter your zipcode. Also you should get yourself an app or something.

Down With Fossil Fuels
Feb. 21st, 2026 04:05 pmRok of the Reds is a strip written by John Wagner and Alan Grant, and illustrated by Dan Cornwell. Elevator pitch: Doomlord meets Roy of the Rovers, so a powerful alien comes to Earth to judge humanity, and must assume human form to fit in while doing so.
The first two volumes were independently published, with this third and final volume premiering in the Judge Dredd Megazine starting last month.
Previously, hero Rok had been somewhat preoccupied with getting the Reds to the FA Cup final, but now it's time to get down to his duty of saving humanity from itself to save the whole species from being annihilated by an intergalactic court ruling.
For the good of... humanity.

The Mortal Thor #6 - "Hide and Seek"
Feb. 21st, 2026 12:39 am
I said something like, "Oh, he should look a bit like a pulp character because he's not a superhero anymore. He's sort of from before superheroes." But that might have been Alex [Ross] who said that to me, because we were emailing on the same wavelength. He's a really smart guy. He drew this incredible pulp illustration, like Doc Savage or something. And the sketches he did of Sigurd, they belong on these detective novel covers from the 50s and 60s. -- Al Ewing

Not the Kind of “On Ice” He Was Hoping to Be: JUSTICE LEAGUE AMERICA #45, JLI SPECIAL #2
Feb. 20th, 2026 10:25 pm
The Keith Giffen Guy Gardner is an unpredictable sort. He can be creepy or compassionate, stupid or cleverer than you expect, full of righteous fury or full of petty fury, sometimes all in one afternoon. This makes reading about him fun and interesting. But it seems like it’d make dating him exhausting.
( Some people can’t get enough drama in their relationships, but Guy seems like he’d be the cure for that. )

Jessica Jones is finally getting another mature title…
Feb. 20th, 2026 05:24 pm… but it’s under the Red Band label which means no digital release. Talk about a monkey’s paw situation. (For me at least; I just prefer digital at this point.)
Still, it’s nice to see Jessica Jones kicking around. Bendis and Gaydos’ original run remains one of my favorites and Jessica was his best original character by far. She had such an interesting personality there that she really hasn’t had under other writers. Hopefully the mature label will bring some of that back.
ALIAS: RED BAND #1 (OF 5)
Written by SAM HUMPHRIES
Art by GERALDO BORGES
Cover by DAVID MACK

THE RETURN OF JESSICA JONES! A series of grisly murders in Hell's Kitchen pulls Jessica Jones into a mystery more sinister than she could've ever imagined. As the wife of Mayor Luke Cage, she'll have to tread carefully as she forms a dangerous alliance with Typhoid Mary to track down the killer. But as she delves deeper into Hell's Kitchen's dark underbelly, the evidence she finds presents more questions than answers…

Luna Snow: World Tour #1
Feb. 19th, 2026 03:00 pm
"Luna Snow's been a blast to write ever since she debuted in comics in the War of the Realms: Agents of Atlas book. But this new story is something special – we get to focus on her as the hero and dig deep into what it means to be a pop star and a super hero at a time when fascists and exploiters have very specific uses for pop stars and super heroes." -- Greg Pak

Bottomfeeder: JUSTICE LEAGUE AMERICA #43-44 (JLI 59)
Feb. 18th, 2026 10:07 pm
Giffen, DeMatteis, Hughes.
This story arc begins with a “heroic” Justice League associate using wealth and power to crush a reporter researching the truth about the team. You probably think I’m talking about Max Lord, right?
( I mean, when Batman or Iron Man want to suppress reporting about themselves, at least they have the decency to sleep with the reporter to create conflict of interest. )
