Blockstudio vs PhantomWP Static WordPress as one system, not two.

PhantomWP makes WordPress fast by putting a second stack in front of it: an Astro repo, a cloud IDE, a deploy target, and webhooks to keep everything in sync. Blockstudio reaches the same static HTML from inside WordPress, so the speed arrives and the site stays one system.

The right goal, one stack too many

Headless splits your site down the middle: WordPress keeps the content, a generated frontend gets the visitors. Blockstudio keeps the whole thing in one place and gets fast there instead.

No second stack

No Astro repo, no cloud IDE, no frontend host. The WordPress you already run is the fast site.

No sync to babysit

No webhook secrets or rebuild pipelines between your content and your visitors.

One host to run

You were keeping the WordPress hosting anyway. Blockstudio makes it the whole site.

Saving is shipping

On a headless pair, a content edit rides a webhook to a rebuild to a redeploy. With Blockstudio the page is fresh on the next request: the prerendered copy is invalidated the moment anything it depends on changes.

Plugins keep their frontends too. Headless keeps them alive as data sources, but everything they show a visitor has to be rebuilt on the other side. Here they render exactly as they always did.

Side by side

The same static outcome, minus the moving parts.

Static, fast pages
Astro builds static HTML
Static prerender, same result
Systems to run
WordPress, a repo, an IDE, a host
One WordPress install
A content edit goes live
Webhook, rebuild, redeploy
On save, the cache invalidates itself
Plugin frontends
Rebuilt as Astro components
They render like they always did
Search, comments, accounts
Stranded behind the seam
Still WordPress, still working
Checkout
WooCommerce support in alpha
WooCommerce as it ships
Design changes
Cloud IDE, commit, push, deploy
Template files, any editor or agent

PhantomWP questions

Straight answers on the headless question.

Delivery is the same story either way: finished HTML served without rendering a page. Blockstudio prerenders pages the moment they change and serves them from disk in milliseconds, so visitors get the identical static experience. What differs is everything around the HTML: one system instead of a pipeline.

A small public surface is a real benefit, and Blockstudio keeps it: anonymous visitors only ever touch prerendered HTML, and the admin and REST stay capability-gated. You do not need a second stack to stop rendering pages per request.

The Astro repo is genuinely yours, in your own GitHub, and that is to their credit. But ejecting leaves you running two systems: a frontend that must be rebuilt on every WordPress change, with tooling you now maintain. Blockstudio is free and open source, and your templates are plain files inside one normal WordPress install.

Blockstudio stays in the editor you already use. Templates are files, so any coding agent can read and change them, and a generated context file hands it the full documentation and schemas. No special IDE, nothing metered, no new place to work.

When you want a pure Astro codebase and WordPress only as a content API, with your team living on the frontend side. If the site should stay one WordPress, with plugins rendering, clients editing, and commerce as WooCommerce ships it, that is Blockstudio.

Keep the speed, drop the pipeline

One WordPress, templates in files, and static HTML for every anonymous visitor. Nothing to sync and nothing to redeploy.
