Inspired by the many /now pages featured on nownownow, I want to have one too! The /now movement is by Derek Sivers. The idea is simple: share your current state of affairs as if updating a friend you haven’t seen in a year.

Habits

Writing /⁠weeknotes. I am enjoying gathering what I came across in a week and writing a weekly highlight. What I don’t like is noticing how fast a week passes by
Continue using Insular (a containerization app using Android’s work profile) for Instagram.² It has markedly cut down my usage to 0–2 hours/week
Trying to read at least a minimum of 2 hours/week on my Kobo or physical books

Concerns / Thoughts

Android’s sideloading saga and loss of software freedoms³
Age verification as a means for censorship and threatening privacy⁴
Migrating off Big Tech as much as possible due to enshittification, scraping practices, ad targeting, lack of privacy, platform lock-down/walled garden behaviours
Rising cost on consumer hardware might mean daily technologies will become unattainable by the general public
