Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, information generated when you use Codefling, and information received from services involved in your transactions or account access. Depending on how you use the site, this includes:
- Account details: your username, name, email address, preferences, and profile information you choose to provide.
- Transactions and creator activity: purchases, invoices, downloads, subscriptions, refunds, warranty claims, and information needed to manage creator earnings and payouts.
- Content and correspondence: listings, uploaded files, reviews, forum posts, messages, support requests, and attachments.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and operating system, session identifiers, pages visited, actions taken, and related access or security logs.
- Connected accounts: identifiers and profile information made available by a sign-in provider when you choose to connect or use that service, subject to the permissions involved.
Payment providers process the payment details you submit through their services. Codefling receives transaction information needed to record purchases, manage access, process refunds or payouts, and address disputes. Do not send full payment-card details or passwords through support messages.
How We Use Your Information
- Manage accounts, authenticate users, and remember preferences.
- Fulfill purchases, provide downloads, administer subscriptions and payouts, and handle support, refunds, and warranties.
- Publish content you choose to share and operate community features.
- Respond to requests and send transaction, account, security, and service notices.
- Understand usage and improve the site, subject to applicable consent requirements.
- Detect spam, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, and enforce our policies.
- Keep records needed for accounting, tax, disputes, and other legal obligations.
Promotional messages are handled in accordance with your preferences and applicable law. Acceptance of this policy is not consent to every optional use of your information.
Where a legal basis is required, processing relies on providing the service you request, meeting legal obligations, consent for uses that require it, or legitimate interests such as security and service improvement balanced against your rights. Optional consent can be withdrawn without undoing earlier lawful processing.
Public Content and Member Interactions
Information you publish in profiles, listings, reviews, public collections, or forums may be visible to other users and visitors, depending on the feature and its visibility settings. Public content may be indexed by search engines or copied by others.
Messages and support information are shared with their intended recipients. Relevant account, purchase, and support information may also be available to the creator handling your order or request and to authorized staff assisting with support, moderation, or security.
Avoid including personal information you do not want disclosed in public content, screenshots, logs, or uploaded files. Removing content from Codefling does not necessarily remove copies already held by others.
Third-Party Services
IPS Spam Defense. At registration, your email address and IP address are sent to Invision Community’s spam-defense service to assess potential spam activity. See the Invision Community Privacy Policy.
SendGrid. We use SendGrid to process and deliver emails, including the recipient information and message content needed for delivery. See Twilio’s Privacy Notice.
Invisible reCAPTCHA. Google’s reCAPTCHA helps distinguish legitimate activity from automated abuse. It may process browser and device information and set cookies. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Payment services. PayPal and Stripe process payments and related activities, including refunds and disputes. The provider used depends on the payment method. See the PayPal Privacy Statement and Stripe Privacy Policy.
Third-party sign-in providers authenticate connected accounts and share information authorized for the connection. Review their permissions and privacy notices before connecting. Some providers process information on our behalf; others also have independent responsibilities under their own notices.
Automated anti-spam and security checks may affect registration or access. If you believe legitimate activity was blocked, contact the Help Center so the issue can be reviewed.
Retention and Account Deletion
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described here. Factors include account activity, ongoing purchase or support obligations, unresolved disputes, security risks, and legal recordkeeping requirements.
Account closure does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record. Transaction, payout, tax, fraud-prevention, and dispute records may need to be retained where a lawful reason remains. Content involving other users may also need separate handling.
You can request deletion or information about retention through the Help Center. We will explain applicable limits and retain only information for which a valid reason remains. Backup copies may take additional time to expire through the backup cycle; they should not be used to restore information for an incompatible purpose.
How We Protect Information
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. Access should be limited to those who need it for their responsibilities.
No website, network, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep credentials private, use a strong password, and report suspected compromise promptly. Where a personal-data breach requires notification, we will notify the relevant people or authorities as required by law.
International Processing
Third-party services can involve processing information outside your country, where privacy laws may differ. The location and role of the provider affect the rules that apply.
Where a transfer is subject to additional legal safeguards, those requirements must be met. Contact us for information about the countries, recipients, and safeguards relevant to your data. The linked provider notices also describe their international processing practices.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information through the Help Center. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to a portable copy, restriction of processing, objection, or an appeal of a request decision.
Objections and consent. Where applicable, you may object to processing based on legitimate interests and to use of your information for direct marketing. Withdraw optional consent through the relevant controls or by contacting us.
Email preferences. Use the unsubscribe instructions in promotional emails or your account preferences to stop marketing messages. Essential purchase, account, security, and legal notices may still be sent where necessary.
We may request proportionate verification of your identity or a representative’s authority. Rights are subject to applicable exceptions, including legal retention duties and other people’s privacy. We will respond within the time required by law and explain any refusal or limitation.
You may also complain to the privacy regulator responsible for your location. Where UK data-protection law applies, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children’s Privacy
Codefling is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 are not permitted to register. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
If we learn that a child under 13 has registered or that their information has been collected inappropriately, we will take prompt steps to remove it and address the account. Parents or guardians can report concerns through the Help Center. Additional age or consent requirements under applicable law still apply.
External Websites and Creator Services
External links, embedded content, connected accounts, and independently operated creator services may involve separate privacy practices. Review the relevant policies before providing information or using those services.
This policy describes Codefling’s practices. It does not control how an independent website or creator handles information you provide directly to them. Codefling remains responsible for its own handling of information and obligations imposed by law.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers, or information practices change. The revised policy will be posted here, and we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required by law.
Continuing to use Codefling does not replace consent where a new use of information requires it. Changes do not remove rights available under applicable law.
Contact Codefling About Privacy
For privacy questions, requests, complaints, or concerns about a child’s information, contact the Codefling Help Center and identify your message as a privacy request.
Include enough information to locate the relevant account or record and explain what you need. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or unnecessary identity documents. We will tell you if further verification is needed.
