Six practices. A complete method for real communication.
The Know Honesty method is the spine of every workshop, every coaching engagement, and the book itself. Six practices, drawn from years of in-room work with leadership teams. Read them here in full.
The Agreement
A simple script to follow at the outset of any conversation.
A short script you say out loud at the start of any real conversation. Both people agree to be 100% honest and 100% open. The Agreement makes safety explicit, said out loud at the start.
Before the difficult talk, the feedback session, the relationship reset, or any conversation where the stakes are higher than usual.
The Assessment
The measurable approach to open and honest.
A ten-minute Assessment that surfaces your real openness score and your real honesty score, plotted on the Open and Honest Model. The distance between them is the work.
Once now to see where you stand. Retake every six months to track the delta.
Fake You
The façade we project rather than being 100% honest.
The version of you that appears when telling the truth feels too expensive. Fake You says "fine" when it isn't. Fake You agrees in the room and disagrees in the parking lot.
To catch Fake You in the moment, name the cost it's hiding, and return to the truer version of yourself before the conversation closes.
The Wall
The divide we put between ourselves and others rather than being 100% open.
The internal block that goes up when you stop receiving someone. These show up again and again in the data: Aggressive, I'm Always Right, Nervous, Busy, Mad, Exhausted, Control. People tend to default to two of them.
To recognize which Wall is up in real time and choose to listen without reservation instead.
The Still
A one-page snapshot to help you uncover and become aware of today's version of you.
A short reflection exercise that captures the true state of every major life and work category as either content or discontent. A snapshot, not a judgment.
Every six months, in a quiet room, with a pen. The pattern between Stills is where the honest change shows up.
Your Pursuit
The question to design the life you want.
A written direction for personal and work life. Asks "what do I really want" until the root answer surfaces. Names what you need to be honest about and open to in order to get there.
Once to write it, every six months to revise. The direction stops drifting between quarters.
Start with your real numbers.
Ten minutes. Two scores. The distance between them is where the work is.
