About Us

The Latino Migration Project is an engaged curricular program dedicated to improving public understanding about the expanding Latin American presence in North Carolina and the Southeastern United States. The Latino Migration Project was established in 2008 and is an initiative of INSITE Latin America & the Caribbean at UNC Chapel Hill.

Community Planning

Building Integrated Communities partners with local governments to build bridges of communication and engagement with North Carolinians from Latin America.

Oral Histories

The New Roots Oral Histories are a bilingual archive and student training program that explores Latin American and Caribbean heritage in the U.S. South.

LMP offers a Latin American Studies course with an engaged curriculum, internships related to local government planning, and oral history training.
