About Patchwork Hub

Patchwork Hub is an award-winning, disabled-led social enterprise and accessible jobs board. We connect disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill jobseekers with inclusive employers across the UK.

Accessible work is vital for some but helpful for everyone, so anyone can join Patchwork Hub. We also support carers, parents and others looking for work without unnecessary barriers.

Alongside helping employers attract and recruit disabled talent, we provide disability inclusion and neurodiversity training, accessible recruitment support and workplace accessibility consultancy. From recruitment through to retention, we help organisations remove barriers, build more inclusive workplaces and take practical action through Disability Confident.

A disabled-led solution

Patchwork Hub is run by disabled people, for everyone. As a social enterprise, our work is rooted in our own lived experience and the communities we serve.

Through our community and growing network of Impact Partners, we work alongside disabled people’s organisations, charities and specialist support providers to connect people with trusted opportunities, resources and support.

Drawing on our own lived experience and insights from our community, we push government and other decision-makers to take meaningful action on disability, health and employment.

And we reinvest at least half of any profits we make in our social mission: closing the disability employment gap and creating a more accessible future of work for all.

Our mission is to close the disability employment gap and create a more accessible future of work for all.

No organisation can close this gap alone. The barriers people experience are also shaped by their wider identities, backgrounds and circumstances. That is why working in partnership sits at the heart of our approach.

To achieve our mission, we:

  • Connect people with opportunity: helping disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill jobseekers find accessible jobs with inclusive employers.
  • Help employers remove accessibility barriers: embedding disability inclusion across attraction, recruitment, retention and career progression internally.
  • Bring wider support together: centralising trusted opportunities, resources and support from across the disability community.
  • Push for systemic change: ensuring disabled people are at the heart of changes to workplace practice and government policy.

Disabled people should not simply be included in the future of work. We should be at the heart of shaping it.

Our Story

 

Patchwork Hub was born out of a realisation that traditional office-based work practices needlessly exclude many individuals who could thrive in work if they were given more flexibility to work in a way that fitted their circumstances.

 

Our founder, Beth Kume-Holland, started Patchwork Hub as a way to allow individuals to connect with more accessible work opportunities.

 

The global pandemic validated that a person can work effectively and produce astonishing results, even if they can’t leave their home.

 

We know that remote working works but one missing piece remains. There needs to be a mainstream recruitment solution that is accessible and inclusive for all. That's where Patchwork Hub comes in.

 

Too many people are forced to choose between working unsustainably or becoming unemployed.

 

When our founder’s chronic health conditions left her unemployed, it was through disability advocacy work and meeting others in the same position that she developed the vision for Patchwork Hub.

 

Since then, we’ve grown into a disabled-led, certified social enterprise.
