Together, we will take bold, creative action to end ICE surveillance, targeting and deportation & build a better world for all.
Vermonters will not stand by and allow for ICE’s continued disappearance of our neighbors and violence towards communities across the country (and world!). Dozens of local organizations, campaigns, faith groups, and loose affiliations of neighbors have been working to Shut Down ICE in the Green Mountain state. Faith leaders, artists, students, rapid responders, or part of local mutual aid crews.
Together, we invite you to join us this October for a week of action in Chittenden County, VT. We are still in the early stages of planning! Please stay tuned as the week of action takes shape, and feel free to reach out with any questions or collaboration.

ICE’S FAMILY SEPARATIONS AND MURDERS ORIGINATE IN WILLISTON, VERMONT
Through the Law Enforcement Support Center on Harvest Lane and the National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center at White Cap Business Park, both located in Williston, VT, ICE collects tips on our immigrant neighbors, spies on civilian social media accounts, and builds lists of targets for kidnapping and deportation. These sites, as well as over a dozen other offices scattered around Chittenden County, provide the bureaucratic backbone and surveillance infrastructure for ICE activity nationwide.

Solidarity Action Toolkit: Shut Down ICE EVERYWHERE
We recognize that not everyone will be able to join us in VT for the ShutDownICE Week of Action October 4-10. The Solidarity Action Toolkit can help you plan and carry out your own actions locally. This toolkit provides tools and recommendations for:
- Understanding Vermont’s role in the detention and deportation machine.
- Tools for planning actions and generating media coverage.
- Templates for spreading the word through social media and physical fliers.
- Resources to help with a call-in campaign against some of our targets.

Protect People, Not Borders:
Stories from Beyond and Within the Deportation Machine
As part of the ShutDownICE VT Week of Action, we are collecting stories that unearth the brutality of, solidarity from within, and resistance to ICE’s deportation machine.
We invite you and your loved ones to share stories of:
- Detentions and kidnappings;
- Time inside concentration camps/detention centers;
- Families supporting loved ones from the outside;
- Ways you and other detainees support each other while inside;
- Community resistance and solidarity.
These stories will be collected and shared out during events throughout the Week of Action in Vermont, October 4-10, and may be compiled into written form to share with the larger community.
By sharing these stories, we hope to:
- Shed light on the brutality of the detention and deportation system;
- Expose the impact of ICE’s surveillance infrastructure on individuals, families, and communities across the country; and
- Demonstrate how together, we can take down the deportation machine piece by piece.
Vermont is home to the surveillance infrastructure that ICE uses to target, track, and violently detain people across the country. But this tells only part of the story. As ICE terrorizes us and our communities, we are fighting back.
To some, this looks like hyper-local and decentralized rapid response teams. To others this means bringing groceries to those who can’t leave their home. And to still others, this looks like spreading know your rights information and demanding each others’ rights be respected from inside a crowded cell.
