Currently writing an anti-bots protection for Nginx (in Lua), deeply inspired by @splitbrain's botcheck (thank you 🙏).
In fact, it's not inspired, it's more an adaptation (i.e. same logic, and for now, same HTML page) for Nginx and Lua instead of Apache and Go.
Should be good enough tomorrow for a first release.

@lornajane regarding your recent blog migration. if you miss comments, add them back. I feel like you that they are an integral part of blogging even though the young ones seem to disagree.
Shameless plug: I built a commenting system called meh... I am sure it could run on a tiny digital ocean droplet. it's sqlite based and claude should have no issues to drop your old comments into the new DB. Integration into your static site is a webcomponent.
But there are other solutions out there...

If all of those that loudly complain about the use of coding agents in Open Source would offer 1 hour of help per week instead of spending that on loudly screaming online, we would have enough eyes and hands to not only get rid of "AI" in Open source but also have enough volunteers to take some of the load of project maintainers and developers. #UnpopularOpinion

Is there a #linux #terminal that has tabs, works on hi-dpi screens and provides usable light and dark color schemes out of the box?
Is a usable light scheme even possible or are hardcoded colors in various applications making this basically impossible?
(I am using xfce term currently and it's mostly fine, but switching between light and dark is fiddly and unsatisfactory)
I need the light mode when working outside.
(if colors do not work out of the box with your suggestion I am also happy about shared configurations to solve this issue)

noooo. someone removed the bench from under the tree at our Friday walkies. why??? 😭
We're using an IKEA baking tray to organize our breakfast stuff in the fridge. Makes it much easier to get all the stuff in and out at once.
However, my wife wasn't happy with how to sort all the stuff in in an accessible way.
So here's my solution: a 3d printed insert with movable dividers that allows us to arrange the packages vertical, making each of them accessible without having to lift others.
