What's Afoot With Grace:

Possible Dreams!!!

August 22, 2026

On the blog this week, I’m pondering the joys of travel, and the joys of homecoming. Lotsa joys! Add your comment here.

And speaking of joys… An Heir of Possibilities, book six of the Bad Heir Day Tales, is now on sale in the web store (ebook version) and in print from Amazon. Retail sites will publish on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026. Wheee!

Belated mid-month reminder: The web store featured deal this month is a discounted price of $1.99 for the audio edition of Worth: Lord of Reckoning. One of my all time faves!

On the blog this week, we’re pondering why allowing yourself time and space to hang out with your darts team is good for society (and for you). Add your insights here.

It’s that time again! The print version of An Heir of Possibilities is available from Amazon. I bobbled this one, initially publishing the same book under the title A Gentleman of Very Few Words (even though the cover said An Heir…). I’m surprised the almighty algos didn’t catch it, but after about 24 hours, I did figure out what I’d done. Apologies if you ordered. (Amazon says no orders came in while the wrong title was up, which makes sense when Gent Very Few won’t be out until November.) This is my brain on summer…. or something.

Dogged Days of Summer…

I am blogging this week about work that never ends, about which, we all know too much. I nonetheless think doing that work has significant intangible benefits. Read more here.

Winter is coming! In honor of that cheering notion, I’ve begun work on a Christmas novella set at Caldicott Hall that yet manages to be a romance (though some mystery might creep in?). Working title: A Gentleman In Winter. Aiming for publication in early November.

August Already!!!

August 2, 2026

I am back from my annual July blogging hiatus, and I arrive bearing a serving of humble pie. Read the details here.

Our fave narrator James Langton has been busy! You will find the audio edition of A Gentleman Far From Home now available through the web store. I am pretty sure James has already queued up A Gentleman of Modest Ambitions, too!

New month, new title on the Deals page! I expect Worth’s audio edition will soon be written into a Tantor Media audio distribution agreement, which means he will leave the web store. In anticipation of that day, I’ve discounted the web store audio version of Worth: Lord of Reckoning to $1.99 for the month of August.

A Little Much Ado

August 29, 2026   •  Grace's Most Recent Blog Post

This week has been stressful. Two family members are in perilous health, I can do little about either situation, and I have the sort of imagination that can awfulize with the worst of ’em. (I acknowledge that the same overactive imagination has been great fun to have around when it’s time to write a book.) Some people are good at bracketing, at telling themselves, “I have fretted about Uncle Fred’s pneumonia for the last hour. I will put that aside now and write my next two scenes. Then I will code my general ledger for … Continue reading
