Yes. Your domain is what comes after the @ — if your domain is yourbusiness.com, your address is you@yourbusiness.com. You can register a domain through WordPress.com, or use one you already own.

Yes. If your domain is registered with another provider like GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, or Cloudflare, you can either transfer it to WordPress.com or connect it by updating your DNS records. Transferring makes WordPress.com your registrar and doesn’t require a paid plan; connecting leaves the domain where it is and does require one. Either way, once the domain is on your account, you can add Professional Email to it.

Your Professional Email subscription is tied to your domain, not your site plan. If you cancel hosting but keep the domain active, your email keeps working. If the domain expires or you transfer it away, addresses on that domain stop working. Export your email before making changes, and let your contacts know if your address is changing. Sending from your own domain rather than a free shared address gives you a more credible sender identity, which is one of the main things spam filters look at. When you add Professional Email through WordPress.com, the SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records that authenticate your mail are configured automatically — there’s nothing you need to set up. Yes, and they move over separately. Emails are transferred with Titan’s import tool, which a mailbox admin runs from the Titan Email Control Panel using the IMAP details from your previous provider. Spam and Trash folders aren’t included, and Gmail and Google Workspace follow their own process. Contacts are imported from inside your inbox, either by connecting a Gmail account or uploading a CSV file.
