    The state of the bullpen is a different issue. It doesn’t help but this was only about the young starter as they rebuild.

    It is at least partially about him for doing it. I was at the game and was bewildered by the decision, especially given how bad the bullpen is.

    Thank you! I am just of the mind that it IS hard to pitch in the big leagues and it is “labor”. Finish the inning if you can. It’s how guys push through barriers and get better. IMO.

    As I said on TMA this am. My take had zero to do with Oli and was more about where the game is today. I appreciate him. He’s been a fantastic manager and made the most out of what he’s had to work with over the years. I’m old and a get off my lawn guy now. It’s all good!

    Their whole lineup was left handed basically. It’s the 5th. Might they hit again later? Only one lefty in pen. See if the young guy can learn. You may be rewarded later when the games are higher stakes. They signaled their intentions hours earlier at deadline. So honor it. Grow.

    Don’t you want your starting pitcher to say “this is my game”. Yes team game but MY game. Gave up 2 run hr. Ok. Back to work. Instead - go sit down. We have 28 more guys to finish. This is the time to see. Ok. Off my lawn!! Then wonder why guys can’t go deep. Got it.
