    We should have the greatest Christmas ever. Everything we could want, and more, is wrapped beneath the tree. But our parents have warned us that if we get impatient and open even one present before Christmas, they’ll throw them all away. I don’t think we’re going to wait.

    College is no longer a good investment. You give up four years’ wages and pay four years’ tuition for higher earnings. Say you break even 12 years from enrollment. You’re betting you can still sell intellectual labor in 2038. AI’s pace makes that a losing bet.

    Your teacher or boss gives you an assignment that he thinks will take 10 hours. You do it in 10 minutes. For the teacher, you have cheated. For the boss you have succeeded spectacularly. This explains why academia doesn't like AI.
