- Just got automatic SSH key enrollment and restic backups between my systems via OpenBao.
- With how complex an RV64GC core is with DDR3, SDIO, DMA, L1 caching, it's a surprise that we actually have CPU's more complex. Hardware definitely is esoteric. It also makes software feel fake when you start running real code on your own CPU core.
- It's wild just how much an Ampere CPU can handle. Like I had parrots spawning every second via a command block. I had things cranked up high, 32 threads for chunk loading. I put Distance Horizons to the max CPU threads and ran some Nix builds. Minecraft held at 30fps, sometimes
- 3 years and 8 days ago, I installed NixOS on a MacBook M1 Pro. The first year had a lot of jank but the past year and a half has been pretty stable. The most concerning problem was the OOMing with Firefox but that's more of due to only having 16GB of RAM. zram actually helps a
