In the Skeels household, Dolly is best known as the woman who sends us a book every month (through the imagination library) and the person who “built” Dollywood. I now have occasion to explain what I failed to explain previously.
Had to have a talk with my 4yo, and I foolishly chose to explain certain recent events in terms of doggy heaven but did so without realizing that I had never properly introduced the notion of regular heaven. This resulted in many questions which I was ill-equipped to answer.
Two comments, one economic and one epistemic:
1) people being unwilling to pay good money for ai slop is a separate and much more pertinent “fact of modern life”.
2) i most certainly CAN doubt that his op-ed is his genuine opinion.
In a statement, WSJ opinion editor Paul Gigot defends Druckenmiller's use of AI to write Monday's op ed, saying "AI is a fact of modern life," and "nobody can doubt that his op-ed is his genuine opinion."
