- Congrats to Adam, Dean, and the entire team at Owner!! Adam and I serendipitously met at a dinner in many years ago. We spent hours together the next day, and the day after that I wrote the very first check into Owner. Owner is still in its early days. I feel very luck toOwner has raised $240M, reached a $2.3B valuation, and crossed $100M ARR. Goldman Sachs Alternatives led the round, joined by Meritech, Redpoint, Headline, & Jack Altman. The world is racing to build AI to replace people’s jobs. Owner is building AI to do the opposite:
- in October of 2022, the founders of Etched were looking to raise pre-seed funding. <4 years they're shipping chips and racks congrats to the whole team at etched (here's a screenshot from their Z Fellows application)
- Robert Wachen (@robertwachen) dropped out of Harvard at 21 with $10,000 in a bank account. Three years later Etched has raised $1B+, is valued over $10B, and has signed $1B+ in customer contracts. He's 24. His explanation for why it worked: "We were absolutely not the best
