ok new idea. open invite to do a "remote" walking podcast: who is down (so you don't need to be in ny) it'll probably more fun (definitely for me, maybe for you?) than just doing a podcast with me, as both of us would be walking outside in different parks etc--- maja has been that person for me recently! "thinking with portals" is reminding me of a chat with a friend..the magical part is there’s also a flywheel effect. some people are portal people. meet one person at the center of an orbit, and suddenly you can meet ten more people you love. one person can open an entire new world!!
- i have learned that if you are a Person With Theories, you simply cannot date someone who is theoryless. the theories can be wildly different, even occasionally deranged, but there must be theories. ideally over time your respective theory ecosystems begin to cross-pollinate
- this isn't an idea to me! this is the Paraclete, the holy spirit! our great advocate, helper, counselor, and a present guarantee of future promises despite risk and sufferingi love the idea of a ‘spiritual trust fund’. even without money, some people move through life with this deep trusting sense that they’ll be okay and that something will catch them
