hot take: instead of vouching, OSS projects need "proof of usage" between drive-by slop PRs and getting brigaded by non-users, it would really help to limit engagement to people who are actually actively using the project (bonus tier if they're long-time users)

The future is bottomless. A web browser is a bottomless frontend, it renders any HTTP backend. We'll have shopping apps, forge apps, chat apps without backends. You won't care if you're browsing github or gitlab or radicle, shopify or amazon. Abandon tightly coupled frontends.
