Of course floating offshore wind in Scotland is likely to be sidelined. For the bloody obvious reason that it’s very expensive, and very far from where demand is concentrated. This has been obvious for years, and is why most ScotWind projects will never happen.

Let’s check how the Scottish MMTers are talking about stresses in the bond market… Complaining to the BBC about reporting on bond yields. I kid you not. (Obviously secondary market bond yields impact the yields at which the government can issue bonds in primary auctions.)

1/ A few weeks ago I poked fun at Tim Rideout’s currency gang for their “can’t short a currency without first owning it” nonsense. Their response concedes that my criticism “is technically true”… and then proposes that Scotland would prohibit short selling through regulation.

1/ Dear god… Tim Rideout’s currency group still haven’t learned how speculators short-sell a currency. If you buy something and then sell it, you don’t have a short position, do you? You have no position at all. A short-seller *borrows* the currency first (from a bank)…
