On that day when your loved one is finally released, what plans do you have? Visiting a special place? Making a favorite meal? Seeing friends and family? For 95% of those currently incarcerated, that day will come. Until then, keep those letters coming! writeaprisoner.com

Waiting for a letter requires patience. Your loved one or pen-pal may be waiting for an opportunity to buy paper and postage in the commissary. Also, prison mail moves slowly. While you're waiting for a reply, go ahead and send another letter. writeaprisoner.com

Did you know there are several types of profiles on our site? View artwork, poetry, and blogs on many of our pen-pal profiles. There are reintegration profiles where people are looking for info about housing and employment upon release. Check them out! writeaprisoner.com

Writing to someone who's incarcerated isn't for everyone. But if you're interested in why people do write, we have shared dozens of quotes from the research and people involved, including those in prison. writeaprisoner.com/about/why-writ… Thank you to all who send encouragement!
