It's been about a month since I finished the last bit of game dev work I've had going on the side this year. I've got a couple ideas banging around for a personal project that I think I want to start prototyping soon...

I've been trying for the past month or so in my phone to disable the stupid blocking of app installations from developers not verified by Google.

You have to enable developer options, find the one that gets rid of the block, promise you're not being coerced to change it, restart your phone, then wait 24 hours. The hardest step is actually remembering to go back after the 24 hours is up to complete the process, but before the window to do so expires and you have to restart the entire process again.

I'm on attempt 3 or 4 and am only now learning I should probably set a reminder. I really hope someone finds a streamlined way around this because this is just ridiculous.

I didn't get completely destroyed in X-wing tonight, so I'll count that as a success.

Started poking around at the dumped Flock ALPR system images tonight. I barely know what I'm doing but it's kinda fun.

I don't know why but the lineups at Weezer shows are absolutely stacked. Silversun Pickups just finished and The Shins are up next!

Just found an email in my spam folder from an AI agent offering to write catchy titles for my blog posts for $3 a pop (lol).

Anyone have clever ideas for ways to respond? Would be very funny to send it on a wild goose chase to waste as many tokens as possible. Either that or get it to divulge who's behind it.

Finally graduated into adulthood today (I'm 30 💀)

Ooh! Just found out that Blood Cultures has a deluxe edition of Skate Story Vol. 1 coming out soon.

Blogging now feels way more cyberpunk than when I started only 5 years ago. It feels way longer than that with everything that's changed.

You can just put stuff on the net on your own site and people will come read it, and a large part of why is simply that it was written by a human.

Tell me what doesn't feel cyberpunk about that while the rest of the net is drowning in writing and images and videos that don't actually exist.

Occasionally someone I follow will go and boost 100 shitposts all at the same time. If you're that person, I want you to know that I appreciate your hard work.

Email's not exactly the most exciting topic in the world, but my post about leaving Gmail sparked a lot of discussion on Hacker News. Here's an update a few months later on how the move to Fastmail went.

Made a little tweak to the links underneath my posts. I think it looks way cleaner than just listing the links unstyled like I was doing before. Really liking how it fits in with the messaging widget too.

Now that I've finally finished reading The Expanse, here are a few quick thoughts on what I loved about the series. Plus a few ideas for what I'll read next.

There's been a lot of music released the past several months that I've really been looking forward to. I'm pretty sure my favorite of the whole year so far is Loathe's A Stranger To You. Really great range, well paced, excellent production, and there's not a song on it I don't like. I haven't gotten tired of it since it came out and it's only grown on me more and more.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but In-N-Out after 17 hours awake on 3 hours of sleep goes extremely hard.
