Discovery: tooling for WordPress Events

This is the first maybe of a few issues.

Initial steps:

• Go over post and pull out what actions program can support in: https://make.wordpress.org/community/2025/10/24/call-for-developers-wordpress-events-tooling-improvements/
• Look at resources and boundaries: timelines, people and systems to manage. Is there for example an expected outcome for v1 and also a repo? Should one repo be for everything or is this macro ones?

Incredible ideas and passion have already sparked real momentum across this community. Now it’s time to turn that energy into results: step forward, review proposals, lend your expertise, and help bring these ideas to life!

A few of the current areas we have identified that need support:

Improving our ticketing system, CampTix
Advancing GatherPress, so official WordPress Chapter Meetup groups can use an open-source solution for event and group management (Reminder, Meetup.com is the largest overhead expense of the events program)
Expanding the vision for our events platform and add new features like a WordPress events app
