  • GitHub achieves ISO/IEC 42001 certification We are pleased to share that GitHub has achieved certification for ISO/IEC 42001, the international standard for AI Management Systems (AIMS). As we continue to integrate AI into our platform, we remain committed to building with transparency and accountability. This certification provides independent, third-party validation of the internal policies, risk management, and governance processes we have in place for our AI systems. This certification builds upon our existing security governance programs, ensuring that AI oversight is deeply integrated into our organizational practices. We look forward to maintaining this standard through our ongoing commitment to annual audits and continuous improvement. #GitHub #AI #ISO42001 #ResponsibleAI

GitHub, one of the most important platforms in coding, is making GPT-5.3-Codex its new base model for Copilot Business and Enterprise, and introducing GPT-5.3-Codex as the first Long Term Support (LTS) model for Copilot. It means GitHub customers are getting an automatic upgrade to a model built for serious software work, with stronger performance, a 12-month stability guarantee, and the kind of predictability and trust enterprises need. GPT-5.3-Codex is already the most-used OpenAI model among Copilot Business and Enterprise users. This move reflects an ask from developers who want the best model for the job. We’re excited to partner with GitHub to help bring better coding tools to enterprises around the world, and to make sure developers have access to the most capable models for their most important work.

  • From "AI as autocomplete" to "AI as an agent" 🚀 The March GitHub Enterprise Roundup highlights the industry shift: moving from simple AI suggestions to governed, measurable, and auditable AI that can handle real-world engineering tasks. As GitHub’s Dave Burnison notes, the pace of innovation right now is "mind-blowing," but the goal remains consistent: "To work alongside you to make you a better, more productive developer—not replace you." 🤝 Key updates this month: Agentic Development: With the Copilot coding agent and GitHub Agentic Workflows entering technical preview, AI is shifting from suggestions to delegated execution. This allows teams to delegate tasks like planning, triage, and CI/CD reasoning while maintaining human approval and enterprise controls. 🤖 Measurable ROI: Telemetry tools, like the Copilot usage metrics API, allow engineering leaders to programmatically track pull request throughput and time-to-merge, providing data-driven evidence for AI impact. 📊 Governance at Scale: The "Required Reviewer" rule is now GA, and new organization-level dashboards for Code Quality help leaders enforce standards across thousands of repositories without manual oversight. ✅ Security Incident Response: New enterprise-wide credential management tools allow administrators to rapidly audit and revoke compromised credentials during an incident, significantly reducing "time-to-contain." 🛡️ 🔗 Read the full March roundup here: https://lnkd.in/gEtig3nz #GitHubEnterprise #SoftwareEngineering #AI #DevOps #TechLeadership

  • General Motors: Driving a Software-Defined Future with GitHub Enterprise General Motors is evolving from an automaker into a platform innovator. To support this transformation, the company needed to unify a massive, fragmented developer environment and accelerate the delivery of software-driven vehicles. By migrating nearly 20,000 developers and 150,000 repositories to GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GM has streamlined its toolchain and modernized its developer experience. Key Outcomes: Unified Ecosystem: Consolidated disparate tools into a single platform for better collaboration. Faster Iteration: Build times reduced from hours to minutes, enabling more frequent deployments. Integrated Security: GitHub Advanced Security is now embedded directly into the developer workflow. Zero Downtime: Executed a large-scale migration with no impact on production. "Transitioning to GitHub was a straightforward decision," says Mario Parisi, Software Development Manager at GM. "Today, we operate within a unified ecosystem that supports all of our developers." See how GM is leveraging GitHub to redefine the driving experience: https://lnkd.in/gnUQHXHi
