Standard visitor visa for study & ETA scheme
The Standard visitor visa can be used for those coming to the UK for short periods of study (up to 6 months) at a Higher Education institution.
Medical Electives
Applicants who are studying a medicine degree abroad are now permitted to enter the UK on a Standard Visitor Visa for study to take up a clinical elective placement.

Biometric Residence Permits
UKVI stopped producing Biometric Residence Permits at the end of October 2024. Any Biometric Residence Permits produced before this date were short-dated to 31 December 2024.
