Finally finished moving our family FreeBSD bhyve/jail host running All The Family Things™ from our venerable Antec 300 to to the SilverStone FLP02!
Will write a review about when I have a moment. But what a fun little project. (The Iomega drives have been moved into my 1999 beigetastic Dell).
Next steps: Getting a beige optical drive, and a mounting bracket for additional HDDs.
New ThinkPad arrived! 2.8K IPS! Matte! Exclamation marks! YAY
This is my first “new” ThinkPad ever, I’ve always had second hand machines. Also marks the end of my personal Mac era, having first got an iMac DV in 1999, and a bunch of iBooks and MacBooks since.
Next step is to wipe the unserious OS off it and put FreeBSD and Fedora on it.
This was a fun experiment :). Mapping and overlaying the screen resolutions I've used over the years.

Bought my first ever *new* ThinkPad! Even got a spiffy new bag in the bundle too. First new personal machine in 5+ years. Hopefully arrives in time for my birthday.
(I won't specify the model or specs, because experience tells me I'll be told they're wrong, irrespective of what they are).
Update: Despite the aforementioned risk, wrote a post here. https://rubenerd.com/buying-a-new-thinkpad-for-the-first-time/.
