Prior to his nomination as U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Ambassador Hoekstra served as Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party (MIGOP) during the 2024 elections, where his leadership was instrumental in delivering a Republican victory. He previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands (2018-2021).

Viki Limaye assumed duties as the U.S. Consul General in Halifax, Canada in August 2024. Throughout her nearly 25-year diplomatic career, she has consistently advanced U.S. economic, security, and environmental interests and relations.

Jennifer Nichols is the U.S. Consul General in Montreal. A career Foreign Service Officer, Ms. Nichols brings two decades of foreign policy and crisis management experience to the role, with a strong background in legislative affairs, human rights, and sanctions policy.

Baxter Hunt, a career diplomat in the Senior Foreign Service, began serving as U.S. Consul General in Toronto in October, 2023. He is delighted to be back in Canada following his posting at the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa from 2001 until 2004.

Shawn Crowley is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Shawn previously served as the Deputy Chief of Mission to the U.S. Missions to Italy and San Marino.
