Recipients never need an account
Every transfer opens in a browser. This is the single fact that resolves most questions about whether a client, contractor or examiner will be able to use it.
Limits apply to the transfer
Size, expiry, password and access are properties of the delivery, not of individual files. Twelve files and one archive behave identically.

Seven days on Free, ninety on Plus, a year on Creator and Teams. FileFast is built to hand work over and then let go of it, which is a different job from storing it.

How do I send a large file to someone?
Upload the file in your browser at file.fast and you get a link to send however you like. The file goes to storage instead of through a mail server, so its size stops being the obstacle. A free account sends up to 5GB in one transfer.
What is the largest file I can send for free?
5GB per transfer on a free account. The Plus plan raises that to 300GB for a single file, and the limit applies to the whole transfer rather than to each file in it.
How do I send a file that is too big to email?
Send a link instead of an attachment. Most mail servers reject attachments over about 25MB, but a link is a few hundred bytes, so the message always fits and the file is fetched when the recipient opens it.
Does the person receiving the file need an account?
No. They open the link in any browser and download. There is no signup, no app and no extension for the recipient, whichever device they use.
Do I need an account to send a file?
Yes to send, but there is no signup form. You enter your email, a one-time code arrives, and the account is created with it. Existing accounts are recognised automatically.
How long does a transfer link stay active?
Seven days on Free, ninety days on Plus, and a year on Creator and Teams. You choose the expiry when you create the transfer, and the files are deleted when it passes rather than left sitting.
How do I send a 5GB file?
A free FileFast account sends 5GB in one transfer with no extra step: upload it in the browser and share the link. Files above 5GB need Plus, which handles up to 300GB.
How do I send a large video?
Upload it as it is. FileFast does not re-encode anything, so the recipient gets the original file rather than a compressed copy, which is the usual complaint about sending video through chat apps.
Can I send a whole folder?
Yes. Choose the folder and its structure is preserved, including files with the same name in different subfolders. Zipping first is not necessary.
Can I password protect a transfer?
Yes. The password is set on the transfer itself, so the recipient types it in a browser rather than needing software to open an encrypted archive.
How do I know when someone downloaded my file?
Turn on the download notification when you create the transfer and an email arrives when it is opened. Download activity is also recorded against the transfer in your history.
Is it safe to send files through a link?
Links are unguessable rather than sequential, transfers can carry a password and an expiry, and every upload is checked against known malware before it is released. Recipient and request pages are excluded from search engines.
Is FileFast anonymous file hosting?
No. Sending requires a verified email address, transfers expire, and abuse can be reported and acted on. It is built for handing work to a known recipient rather than for publishing files anonymously.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, on iOS and Android, plus a macOS menu bar app and a Chrome extension. All of them use the same account, limits and transfer history as the website.
