  • Registration: Open until the Round 1 submission deadline.
  • Round 1 — Idea Submission: Participants must submit their idea using the official Hack2Heal 2.0 template by 10 September 2026.
  • Final Round: 20 teams will be shortlisted from Round 1. Final Round dates, requirements, and submission instructions will be communicated directly to shortlisted teams.

All dates are subject to change at the discretion of the organizers. Any changes will be communicated through the official hackathon channels.

Eligibility

Hack2Heal 2.0 is a student-only global healthcare innovation hackathon open exclusively to students currently enrolled in a college or university anywhere in the world.

  • School students are not eligible to participate.
  • Participants may compete individually or as part of a team.
  • All team members must be eligible college or university students.
  • Participants may be asked to provide valid student identification or proof of current enrollment.
  • Registration is absolutely FREE.
Project and Submission Requirements

Round 1 is an Idea Submission Round. Participants are not required to have a fully developed prototype at this stage.

Participants must:

  1. Download and use the official Hack2Heal 2.0 submission template provided by the organizers.
  2. Complete the presentation according to the prescribed format.
  3. Submit the completed presentation through Devpost in PDF format by 10 September 2026.
  4. Clearly present their:
    • Problem Statement
    • Proposed Solution
    • Innovation and Technology
    • Target Users and Potential Impact
    • Implementation Approach
    • Team Details

The submitted idea must be original work. Plagiarism, misrepresentation, and intellectual property infringement are prohibited.

Participants may use existing libraries, frameworks, APIs, datasets, open-source technologies, and AI tools. Any significant third-party resources should be appropriately acknowledged.

The 20 shortlisted teams will receive separate instructions regarding the Final Round, including development, demonstration, and presentation requirements.

Opportunity to pursue a Scopus-indexed research publication, subject to applicable research, review, and publication requirements.

Research and internship opportunities at the IEM Institute of Fundamental Research (IIFR), subject to applicable selection and institutional requirements.

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Round 1 submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Innovation and Originality — How novel and creative is the proposed idea?
  • Problem Relevance — How clearly and meaningfully does the idea address a healthcare challenge?
  • Feasibility — How realistic is the proposed solution to implement?
  • Technical/Scientific Approach — How effectively does the proposed technology, methodology, or scientific approach support the solution?
  • Potential Impact — What potential does the idea have to create meaningful real-world impact?
  • Clarity and Presentation — How clearly and effectively is the idea communicated?

Based on the evaluation, 20 teams will be shortlisted for the Final Round.

Final Round winners will be determined based on the quality of the developed solution, innovation, implementation, demonstration, impact, and final presentation. The detailed Final Round evaluation criteria will be communicated to shortlisted teams.

The decisions of the judging panel and hackathon organizers regarding shortlisting and winners will be final and binding.

Hack2Heal 2.0 is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, comfortable, and harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of:

  • Race

  • Previous hackathon attendance or lack thereof
  • Computing experience or lack thereof
  • Chosen programming language or technology stack

We do not tolerate harassment in any form.

Sexual language, imagery, or inappropriate conduct is not permitted in connection with Hack2Heal 2.0, including during:

  • Hacks, projects, or demonstrations
  • Talks, presentations, or demos
  • Workshops
  • Parties or social events associated with the hackathon
  • Social media
  • Online communications or other digital media associated with the hackathon

All participants are expected to maintain a respectful, professional, and inclusive environment.

Participants who violate these rules may be sanctioned, disqualified, or expelled from the hackathon at the discretion of the organizers. Such action may also result in forfeiture of eligibility for prizes or other opportunities.

Intellectual Property and Use of Submissions

Participants retain ownership of their original ideas and intellectual property.

By submitting materials to Hack2Heal 2.0, participants grant the organizers permission to display or showcase submitted materials for hackathon-related evaluation, documentation, educational, and promotional purposes.

Organizer Rights

The organizers reserve the right to modify the schedule, requirements, judging process, or other aspects of the hackathon when necessary. Significant changes will be communicated through official hackathon channels.

The organizers reserve the right to disqualify submissions or participants for plagiarism, false information, copyright infringement, unethical conduct, misconduct, or violation of these rules.

By registering for Hack2Heal 2.0, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these rules and the Code of Conduct.
