Hello devs,

Up to 2.9B commits a month: Keep Calm and Stay Focused

Back-to-school week. Did you get your fourth day — when your brain flushes its cache? (RudeOps #79). Meanwhile GitHub cracked 7h47 under 2.9B commits/month + Copilot retry storm.

Guest Yves Rougy (Yorzian, F1IVT, gguf-bench.com) — freelance Linux/systems trainer, LLMs on a 2017 GTX 1070. His wedding-photographer analogy: if your only skill is pressing a button, you'll be replaced.

A Day With Laravel #63 is out!

Laravel 13.24: dominant color detection + HEIC support in the image API, modelKeys() on the query builder, and a new array_keys validation rule.

Filament v5.7.6 / v4.12.6: forms render ~90% faster, tables ~50% faster, plus CVE patches — update now.

Laravel Cloud managed queues autoscale on queue pressure and scale to zero when idle, with workers waking in under a second.

New first-party packages: Laravel Head (meta, Open Graph, JSON-LD for Blade/Livewire/Inertia) and Laravel Doctor (one-command health checks).

Laravel LSP lands in Zed with an official extension, and PhpStorm 2026.2 ships a Laravel tool window.

Hello devs,

AI Brain Fry Is Real — and Devs Fight Back

We were promised the 10x dev. Now a new word: brain fry. HBR study (1,488 workers): more decision fatigue, 39% more serious errors, more quitting. First hit? Devs babysitting fleets of agents. Us!

Devs fight back: draft first, reclaim code, refuse tasks. Guest Cyril Beaufrere (RudeOps): curiosity above all.
