Something that really annoys me that I encounter quite a bit is "intellectual partisanship" – expecting people not to publicly express views that are associated with the enemy, and expecting that if someone is on a certain side (eg, "pro-progress" or pro-building) they are

When I joined @tarbellcenter and started @ReadTransformer in February 2024, a major reason was that I thought journalism was failing the public in how it covered AI.
There’s still room for improvement, but I’m no longer nearly as worried as I was then.
I have long criticized the mainstream media for failing to treat the AI issue with the gravity it deserves. That's changing. I hope this is just the start. Huge props to @dylfreed.
