James R. Munkres, whom I know because of his Topology textbook, has died. May he rest connected! August 18, 1930 – July 30, 2026 douglassfh.com/obituary/james…

(Unproven) Claim: Most papers written in 2026 are less readable compared to papers written in 2006. Hope this initiative helps and I welcome it. I have doubts though: The result might be more prompts of "Improve the writing of what you wrote so that it passes the criteria" type.

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”. The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

If you are a Reinforcement Learning (RL) researcher, do you often call a [world] model in the sense used in model-based RL (ex: Dyna-like architecture) a "model" or a "world model"? Junior: less than 3 years of RL research. Experienced: more than 3 years of RL research.

Not AI data centres, but yeah, close enough! The Terminator 2 is one of my most favourite movies of all time. Its impact on me back in 1991 was tremendous and life-changing!

Just a friendly reminder that Sarah Connor was thrown into an insane asylum for trying to sabotage AI data centers.
