To claim absolute security is suspicious. Coldcard certainly took some good design decisions not least of which is the BTC-only firmware. Less features is less attack surface. Unfortunately the attack surface is still gigantic and there is way too few security researchers.

We attest to transparency but not to implementation details. Some nudge us to feature free and open source products over public source ones and in this case this might have been the right call as the security degradation was introduced in @Coinkite's step away from FOSS.
