Switching reasoning effort mid-session can affect more than just the answer. In one measured Codex session, a new effort level dropped the cache hit rate from above 92% to about 66% on the next turn. That meant 4,096 fewer input tokens were served from the cache.

This biweekly roundup has nine updates. Bun 1.4 shipped its Rust rewrite, fixed 2,900+ issues, and says the port took 11 days. Linear moved from styled-components to StyleX and measured 20–35% less main-thread work on view-heavy pages.

Undoing your edit can create a document that never existed. In a collaborative editor, another person's changes can move what your undo was meant to affect. That is why undo needs to track the edit, not just the document state. greatfrontend.com/?utm_source=tw…

A Frontend Software Engineer in the US can land $135K or $267K under the exact same job title. That's a $132K difference. Google runs 8 engineering levels, Meta 7, Microsoft 13. The title never tells you which one you're getting. greatfrontend.com/interviews/get…
