Some great healthcare news going into the weekend: @CMSGov is proposing new site-neutral payments, cutting imaging payments at off-campus hospitals to match physician-office rates! They expect $70M⬇️in beneficiary premiums, $190M⬇️in part B savings - $260M total in 1st year.

This is a good idea, being able to run a hospital at Medicare rates should be a major goal for the industry. Annual double-digit percentage increases in employer health costs are unsustainable and they are driven by hospitals

I have an idea for you. Get a bunch of Dem donors to buy or lease or take over a small hospital. Plenty are close to going out of business. Have it charge ONLY MEDICARE RATES. For everything. Be completely transparent with every penny you spend so everyone can see what it

Incredible chart. My MIL got a lung transplant for ILD in 2023, and now I can thank Trikafta! This is a great example of "care abundance" -- the red line is some proxy for physically bounded care delivery, which we can allocate to more patients by substituting some demand.

Vibe shift: over the past few months, basically every computer in the community ER where I work has an @openevidence window up. Younger and older attendings alike. Huge usage everywhere.
