Youngwoon Lee is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University. His research focuses on reinforcement learning and robot learning, with the goal of enabling robots to learn complex real-world tasks. He is particularly interested in humanoid robots and dexterous manipulation. Before joining Seoul National University, he was an assistant professor at Yonsei University and a postdoctoral researcher with Pieter Abbeel at UC Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from USC, advised by Joseph J. Lim, and his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from KAIST. His work has received the Best Conference Paper Award at ICRA 2024, the Best System Paper Award at RSS 2023, and the Best Paper Presentation Award at CoRL 2020.
I am an assistant professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University, where I lead the Scalable Robot Learning (SRL) lab. I develop scalable reinforcement learning methods that help robots learn complex real-world tasks, with a focus on humanoid control and dexterous manipulation.
Before joining SNU, I was an assistant professor at Yonsei University and a postdoc with Pieter Abbeel at UC Berkeley. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from USC, advised by Joseph J. Lim, and my B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from KAIST.
